LEFTWING MUPPETS ON VERGE OF CANCELLATION
Breitbart ^ | Oct 12, 2015 | John Nolte

Posted on 10/12/2015 10:28:16 AM PDT by bkopto

Disney did the impossible: destroyed the Muppets. By making the Muppets “edgy” left-wing partisans who attack Fox News, come out as pro-abortion, and hurl sex jokes, the once-universally beloved franchise has been doomed. First, the leftwing Muppets failed at the box office, and now Kermit and Company are on the verge of having their new television show cancelled.

“Jim Henson has to be rolling over in his grave over this monstrosity.”

I’m not so sure. Despite all the denials, Jim died suddenly of pneumonia back when it wasn’t hip to be gay, and when closeted homosexuals often suddenly died of pneumonia.

Jim and Kermit in College Park. ABC/Disney are perverts, they destroy everything they touch. Even Muppets.

LOL. Reminds me of a great scene from the original Muppet Movie. The villain had captured Kermit and was telling him how he planned to create a nationwide chain of frog legs restaurants. Kermit got a horrified look on his face and said, “Imagine, thousands of tiny wheel chairs.”

We do NOT need a bunch of out of work muppets roaming the countryside, that's for sure.

Disney has ruined the effectiveness for liberals of the show. It taught children to continue to think like children which helps them to grow up to accept anything at all if presented in 6 second sound bites.

I don’t think the general plot lines were bad... the problem for me has just been the execution. Its too crass.. I have no issue with the general plot line that Piggy isn’t happy that she doesn’t have a date for an awards show, and when she gets a boyfriend she is generally happier... and the fact he turns into a pain in the butt and Kermit has to figure out how to get rid of him and does so by playing to Piggy’s ego... Nothing wrong, that’s a nice simple plot line ... but I don’t need the fact when Piggy is happy, that the lines from her have to be overtly sexual/crass as to the reason why... I also don’t need to hear about Piggy/Kermit free pass list... the joke at the end that came from it, along with the attempts to find her a date could have been approached without this reference/need... and all still worked.

I think the general ideas behind it are fine, its the execution that’s the issue, I don’t need two broke girls garbage coming out of the Muppets, they deserve better. The story could be told without alienating audiences or offending sensibilities and can be funny as well. I think prime time has just gotten too lazy to know you can write funny without being crass in the process.

I know this was rushed into production, and it could probably fix the issues, but if it turns off too many too quickly it will never last long enough so that new production can adjust.

It will be a shame if the hard work Jason Segel did to revive the brand and give it the proper respect that it deserved, is flushed right down the toilet for another 20 years.

I only saw a commercial for it for maybe 15 seconds and it turned me away. What a shame.

It's not easy being RED.

LOL!

The least Disney could have done was changed the Muppets' name to The Marxist Propagandists.

It was pneumonia--he was raised not to trust doctors or any of the medical community, and NEVER went to the doctor.

Until it was too late.

very sad indeed. I watched the show so often back then. I did not like this new version.

adult humor can be easily intertwined with humor for children. this assumes of course that adults will get the joke. Rocky and Bullwinkle used to have all kinds of adult humor in the 60s... many puns such as “Kerwood Derby”, etc... these days, I doubt many of people over 40 would get many of these puns, these days.

on a similar note, this past weekend, I tried watching SNL for the first time in 10 years or so, and did not laugh once...nada..

It was funny and it was an escape to corny and innocent. You could watch it with the kids and laugh and imitate the Swedish Chef.

Those were another set of good time gone to the communist agenda.

Too bad. Early on they taught valid lessons like kindness, behavior, enjoyment of music and dancing, humor. Somewhere along the line they were co-opted and became apparatchiks.
