Bernie Sanders: 'We're Going to Explain What Democratic Socialism Is'
CNS News ^ | 10/14/15

Posted on 10/14/2015 6:35:15 PM PDT by markomalley

In Tuesday night’s Democratic presidential debate on CNN, Sen. Bernie Sanders said he was going to explain to Americans what democratic socialism is.

Moderator Anderson Cooper asked: “Senator Sanders, a Gallup poll says half the country would not put a socialist in the White House. You call yourself a democratic socialist. How can any kind of socialist win a general election in the United States?

Sanders replied: “Well, we're going to win because first we're going to explain what democratic socialism is. And what democratic socialism is about is saying that it is immoral and wrong that the top one-tenth of 1 percent in this country own almost 90 percent--own almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent. That it is wrong, today--in a rigged economy--that 57 percent of all new income is going to the top 1 percent.

“That when you look around the world, you see every other major country providing health care to all people as a right, except the United States. You see every other major country saying to moms that when you have a baby, we are not going to separate you from your newborn baby, because we are going to have medical and family paid leave, like every other country on Earth.

“Those are some of the principles that I believe in, and I think we should look to countries like Denmark, like Sweden and Norway, and learn from what they have accomplished for their working people.”

Shortly later, Cooper asked Sanders: “You don't consider yourself a capitalist, though?”

Sanders replied: “Do I consider myself part of the casino capitalist process by which so few have so much and so many have so little by which Wall Street's greed and recklessness wrecked this economy? No, I don't. I believe in a society where all people do well. Not just a handful of billionaires.”

Two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner.

That's a pure democracy.

In a Socialist Democracy, the wolves eat the sheep while telling the sheep it voted for this.

...saying that it is immoral and wrong....

Immoral and wrong according to whom?

Sanders is a Jew who has said, "I’m not particularly religious." That would be uncool. And he's got to be hip

So where does he get his values from, declaring that something is "immoral"? To whom? Himself?

No you're not. You saw what effect an increase to a $15 an hour mininum wage did, didn't you....Robots replacing humans. Of course the idiot liberals will claim it created new jobs for the people who build the robots.

trying to understand the liberal mindset is like trying to eat soup with a fork...

I think Bernie has picked some bad examples to support his democratic socialism. These Scandinavian countries could appear to work under socialism, as long as they were homogeneous societies with very uniform values. That’s not true anymore, and it surely isn’t true of the US.

Maxine Waters warns Shell president in House committee hearing

Posted: May 23, 2008
2008 WorldNetDaily

A report by Fox News, captured in a clip posted on YouTube.com (Must see video! here ) , showed Waters challenging the president of Shell Oil, John Hofmeister, to guarantee the prices consumers pay will go down if the oil companies are allowed to drill wherever they want off of U.S. shores.

Hofmeister replied: "I can guarantee to the American people, because of the inaction of the United States Congress, ever-increasing prices unless the demand comes down."

The Shell exec said paying $5 at the pump "will look like a very low price in the years to come if we are prohibited from finding new reserves, new opportunities to increase supplies."

Waters responded, in part, "And guess what this liberal would be all about. This liberal will be about socializing … uh, um..."

The congresswoman paused to collect her thoughts [for about 5-6 seconds this went on, while her colleagues behind her laughed].

"...would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies..."

The oil executives responded, according to Fox News, by saying they've seen this before, in Hugo Chavez's Venezuela.

Democratic socialism comes when you have of population of voters too stupid to realize that socialism is nothing but a temporary, transitory period between free market capitalism and totalitarian communism.

Sorry, Bernie, I don’t need a lying psychopath such as yourself to explain a damn thing. I know it all too well. I’m living it, you SOB.

Sanders the socialist has no problem taking other people’s money, but I’ll bet dollars to donuts the guy is a tightwad when it comes to tipping with his own money.

The CPUSA has run for POTUS since the 1930's

The only difference now is that after being chased into the shadows during the Cold War, they now CONTROL THE DEMOCRAT PARTY

The mockie SANDERS is no Jim Ford, but his VERY PRESENCE ON THE DEBATE STAGE last night proves that A NEW ERA OF McCarthyism is ABOUT TO BEGIN.

Chase these perverted evil scumbags back under the rocks they have crawled out from.

COMMUNISTS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

DEMOCRATS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Democratic Socialism.

An oxymoron.

Of course most of Bernie's supporters don't know what an oxymoron is.

Most of the wealth of the so called 1% is not taxable under current IRS rules. Will the Democratic Socialist have a tax on wealth? Bill Gates has a net worth of around 75 billion dollars. How much would Sanders take?

That's an interesting question. If Comrade Sanders went after wealth instead of income, he and all of his swell friends like Lizzy Warren would feel the pain. Has anyone in the media mentioned that Bernie Sanders is a millionaire despite never having held a job of any substance in the private sector?
