Another Republican lawmaker says the House Select Committee on Benghazi is meant to go after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Rep. Richard Hanna, R-New York, said Wednesday on New York's' WIBX 950, "Sometimes the biggest sin you can commit in D.C. is to tell the truth."
"This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton," said Hanna, who is not a member of the committee. "After what Kevin McCarthy said, it's difficult to accept at least a part of it was not. I think that's the way Washington works. But you'd like to expect more from a committee that's spent millions of dollars and tons of time."
Clinton is scheduled to testify before the panel on October 22.
At the first Democratic debate on Tuesday night, Clinton slammed Republicans, telling the audience that the committee is "basically an arm of the Republican National Committee."
"It is a partisan vehicle, as admitted by the House Republican majority leader, Mr. McCarthy, to drive down my poll numbers. Big surprise. And that's what they have attempted to do," Clinton said, adding later, "But I'll be there. I'll answer their questions."
Brian Fallon, the Clinton campaign's press secretary, said Wednesday that Hanna's comment show that "House Republicans aren't even shy anymore about admitting that the Benghazi Committee is a partisan farce."
"Hillary Clinton will still attend next week's hearing," Fallon said, "but at this point, (Chairman) Trey Gowdy's inquiry has zero credibility left."
While McCarthy walked back his comments, Democrats quickly seized on his gaffe and it ultimately contributed to the derailing of McCarthy's brief speaker bid.

So, just because Hillary is clearly and obviously a criminal, murdering traitor doesn’t mean that the investigating committee should “go after her”?
That’s what investigators do when investigating serious crimes.
Uh.... now we have Republicans with a set? Couldn’t fight Boehner/Obama but by golly they can sully the name of their own Party—further.
If I was Trey Gowdy, I’d grab Dick Hanna here by the scruff of his neck, drag him into a dark corner of the House Chamber, and then whip the living crap out of him for giving Hillary this way out of her mess (along with loser McCarthy).
My thoughts, too. I guess the Democrats have dirt on EVERYBODY in the whole country. Maybe we should figure out a way to destroy that big facility in Nevada, where all that dirt is stored. Or maybe we could just raid it and get the dirt on the Democrats.

Because the committee certainly wasn’t set up to discover any of the circumstances that led to the deaths of these men, who killed them and how, nor did it hold anyone accountable or achieve justice for any of the victims involved.
So one does wonder what the Hell the purpose of this committee is...
Good to know we can still count on republicans to turn on their own. Democrats will circle the wagons around the biggest lying criminals to get them in office or keep them in office, but republicans su*k.

Then came the pressure of the RATS, Cummings in particular, he was getting all kinds of threats not to proceed with this investigation, hence the letter from Gowdy telling he knew and had proof the ‘leaks to the press’ were coming from him, so Cummings decides to throw this person who was fired under the bus, well he started talking because he wasn't going to take the fall, so today I read where there's another one that has been thrown under the bus...
The Clinton Crime Family has a lot of ‘arms’ and reach into every department of our Government and around the world...until they are stopped, this will continue....

How was what McCarthy said a “gaffe”? He was explaining the investigation as he saw it. The man, like so many republicans, is a moron.
I guess, along with ALL the Democrats, there are some Republicans who do not care to find out the reason that 4 brave Americans were murdered in Benghazi. And their murderers are still on the loose. (Remember when Obama said ‘I will not rest until the perpetrators are caught and punished’? Or was that just another ‘I will not rest’ phony baloney claim?)
