George W. to the Rescue

Breaks self-imposed retirement from politics to attack conservative darling Ted Cruz

We haven’t heard much from President George W. Bush during the past seven years. After leaving office with approval numbers in the high 20s, he made a conscious decision to keep a respectful distance from Washington, to refrain from becoming the Pundit-in-Chief criticizing his successor’s every move.

“He deserves my silence,” Bush said of the newly elected Barack Obama. “I think it is essential that he be helped in office.”

Indeed when the Left was going wild in Obama’s first term, all the Bushes went mum. George W. was suddenly applauded by elites in both parties as a gallant statesman when he announced that he wouldn’t criticize his successor.

Thankfully, grassroots Republicans didn’t agree. And when the Tea Party upstarts helped the Republican Party roar back in the 2010 midterms, the Bushes knew they were revolting not only against Obama, but against Bushism.

President Bush broke his self-imposed silence in January 2011, in a speech at Southern Methodist University. The only problem was, he wasn’t attacking Obama, but conservatives. Addressing the immigration debate, he said: “[I]f you study history, there are some ‘isms’ that occasionally pop up…. One is isolationism and its evil twin protectionism and its evil triplet nativism.”

I consider this to be one of Ted Cruz’s most impressive endorsements to date.

Really? The USA looks different from a gated community.

Cruz’s response needs to be: “Make sure that’s Cruz, C-R-U-Z”.

Is there any doubt now that the entire Bush family is part of the New World Order crowd and that they are intent on controlling the masses for the benefit of their elite class?

I have known that for so long. My friend believe that George W has God in his Heart because he loves the United States and our military. That is fine, but if he has God in his Heart he would fight for our country NOT against her and do everything to fight the establishment who is part of the NWO crowds.

Well Georgy just exposed his true self. I thank God Trump and Cruz have jumped into the political arena because each one of the NWO establishment are exposing themselves out in the public.

GWB’s derogatory comments on Cruz are going to backfire big time for JEB.

Prominent conservative leaders are speaking up in opposition to BUSH.

The Bushes took for granted the ‘true conservatives’ who put them in office. Now they are telling the “true conservatives’ to go to hell.

There are a lot of ill informed conservatives who were still supporting JEB. Those ill informed conservatives will now hear a lot of reasons why supporting JEB is a mistake.

The same George W. who kept a Clinton cabinet and staff until well after 911.

The same George W. who invited Barack to the White House to solve our “economic crisis” just before the election.

The same George W. who has refused to criticize Barack for the past 7 years.

Wow, such credibility. I hope it gets Cruz at least 15 points in the polls.

So George W. spent years refusing to respond to Obama’s vicious personal attacks on him because it was beneath the dignity of the office. Now, even though Cruz has not attacked him, he comes out with a gratuitous swipe at Cruz. Kinda reminds you of where the Bush family’s priorities are — Dem-lite, Compassionate Conservative, Rockefeller Republicans.

I believe that the vast majority of conservative voters — including those Tea Party voters who like Ted Cruz — honor the Bush family for its service and would like to work with the Bushes and their supporters to build a better country.

This is the weakest part of an otherwise good article. Apart from George HW Bush's honorable service in Second World War, I have seen little from the Bush clan that implies that they give a damn about making anything better for anyone other than themselves and their inner circle of cronies.

As said above this is only going to help Cruz. I understand this was from a Bush donor meeting. Looks like one of them leaked the quote it shows how stupid these Bush donors are.

What you bring out has been my mindset for years. The Bush family looks upon themselves as the real spirit of the people today not necessarily the spirit of the Founders.

I’ll say it and I don’t care if anyone attacks me: GWB is evil, and though it’s an echo of. A Rush caller today, he was horrible as a President and led directly to Obama!

What I read is that it was said that GWB said he hated Cruz with no source given. Could be another media fabrication?
