Trump Change: More GOP Voters Than Ever Say He’s The Man (74% LV Repubs Say Trump Wins GOP)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | October 23, 2015 | Rasmussen Reports

Bang! More Republicans than ever think Donald Trump will be their party’s presidential nominee next year.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 74% of Likely Republican Voters believe Trump is likely to end up as the GOP nominee, with 34% who say it is Very Likely. The overall finding is a 16-point jump from a week ago and up eight points from Trump’s previous high among Republicans of 66% in early September. This is also the highest number to date who see a Trump nomination as Very Likely.

Just 23% of GOP voters say “The Donald” is unlikely to capture the Republican nomination, but that includes only six percent (6%) who consider it Not At All Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

When Trump first announced his candidacy in mid-June, just 27% of Republicans felt his nomination was likely.

Among all likely voters, 57% say Trump is likely to be the Republican presidential nominee, with 22% who view it as Very Likely. Both these findings are also record highs since Rasmussen Reports began the weekly Trump Change survey in mid-August. Thirty-nine percent (39%) still say Trump is not likely to win the nomination, with 16% who say it is Not At All Likely.

I fear that Trump could be a Trojan Horse.

He’s friends with the Clintoons, and he was a Dim for a really long time.

Imagine a scenario where he gets just enough votes to win the nomination, then comes out and announces that he has suckered all the rubes in the Republican Party. Then he drops out and supports The Witch.

Black Helicopters? Probably, but I wouldn’t put anything past the Clintons.

Cone of silence and ‘eaten alive’ are both right on the money.

They ignore those they can, and they run active operations against those they can’t.

Put that in numbers for me. What percentage chance is there for that to happen?

I'll concede that might be possible, in some sense of the word "possible."

In terms of likelihood, i would think you could find any numbers of things more likely to worry about.

I want to see them bar Trump from being awarded the nomination with their concocted insider primary rules, when 55+ percent of the American population want him to lead. I'd honestly love to see them do that. I actually hope they go there.☺

Carson is a SDA.

Evangelicals better research what the SDA “church” thinks of them.

I was just pointing out the rock Trump must roll up the hill is larger than for any other major candidate. I’m hopeful but mindful that Trump is but a man.

If he does nothing else EXCEPT that, he will be a success.

If GOPe pulls those underhanded tricks on Trump,
he will be in a good position to go 3rd party without any blame. Helloooo President Madam Hillary!

I believe that Trump is going to trounce the Democrat opponent.

He is pulling across demographic lines.

I believe he could win a third party bid easily.

Perot could have done it too if he hadn’t gone squirrely.

It only takes 35% to win a third party bid. Officially it could be done with 33.33% plus 1.

Trump could easily pull in 40 to 60%.

The two main parties are holding on by their fingernails.

Hillary is discredited worse than anyone in our history.

The Republican nominee couldn’t take it. If Trump asked Cruz, I think Cruz would go with him.

It would be an interesting three-way if it was Hillary, Cruz, and Trump.

I still think Trump comes out on top there. He’s too charismatic compared to Cruz, and I favor some of his policies over Cruz’s.

Plus, Cruz is mainstream Christian and does not belong to a cult like Carson does. For that matter, Donald Trump is mainstream too. I don’t understand this evangelical support for Carson.

Or it is a sort of Bradley effect. Also, I think it likely a lot Carson supporters are really Trump supporters but don’t want to say so because being a Trump supporter is sort of low brow.

Oh, I do not think you are right at all. Trump does not fit the profile of a potential dictator. He is not a young man, with a lot of failure in his life, a leftwing malcontent with likely criminal past. He did not grow up in poverty with an absent father. These are his twilight years, he has already done all the things he wants to do, he has had a very full and successful life, and has nothing to prove. And, a very successful businessman has certainly learned to delegate and to take advice. Of course, we are going to be disappointed if we expect perfection, Trump is not going to succeed in all that he wants to do. Heck I was disappointed sometimes with Ronald Reagan!

I also think Carson is a parking lot for Trump voters.
