I don’t see how it can be legal to raise the minimum wage for only one type of business. It sounds dubious to do so by executive order as well.

It seems that Democrat governors want to do things through executive order, imitating their buddy Obama.

One would hope that the courts would overrule such a brazen act of decreeing an increase in the minimum wage for only one segment of workers. Clearly an illegal act, but, will the liberal judges who would eventually rule on this agree?

It’s common in much of the country to find a dollar menu section on most fast food menus. Can any New Yorkers tell me if New York City fast food restaurants have dollar menus?

Who in his right mind would go into the restaurant business under these conditions?

No one.

LGA Airport already has these kiosks in place.

No employees other than an order taker and manager.

I go to a Mcdonalds in Manhattan three times a day for coffee. I buy it from a kiosk. Still brewed and poured by a human, but I suspect that will change soon enough too.

Minimum wage is last century. We don’t need it. Let the market decide.

IIRC, in the 80’’s there was a labor shortage and fast food restaurants were paying good wages, probably better than $15 on an inflation adjusted basis. Sort of like ND at the height of the oil boom.

Current fast food workers: enjoy the unemployment line. Only to be filled with new, better educated employees that make less than $15/hr in other fields and technology.

The law of unintended consequences, you greedy MENSA scholars. Enjoy that unemployment line.
