While it does appear to be excessive force, I believe that was what was called for to get the attention of the feral yutes who now believe they are above any form of authority.

I think it was 10th grade, first day of gym class and all of us guys were sitting in the bleachers while coach was talking to us.
Elmer was at the top of the bleachers screwing around when all of a sudden coach had enough, he charged up the bleachers, grabbed Elmer by the arm and hauled him down to the gym floor and kicked him out of class.....
Scared the hell out of all of us and it certainly got our attention.
Elmer's mom came to school the next day and coach got into a little trouble but that was the end of it.
That was 49 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday........LOL!
