GOP Debate: Trump Did Call Rubio ‘Zuckerberg’s Personal Senator’
Breitbart ^ | 28 Oct 2015 | Joel B. Pollak

Donald Trump was doing well at the GOP Debate on Wednesday evening until a blunder in which he claimed not to have called Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) “Mark Zuckerberg’s personal senator.”

Moderator Becky Quick–who had been aggressive with all of the candidates–asked Trump about the quote in the context of his policy on H1-B visas for skilled immigrants.

Trump denied having said the line: “”I never said that.” He then suggested that Jeb Bush may have been to blame for the quote, and accused the moderators of “really doing some bad fact-checking.”

Quick apologized, though it was not clear she was convinced.

“hat I care about is the fact there’s not going to be a COLA for my government retirement check next year and I’m not getting any interest income on my savings or CD’s. My standard of living has stagnated and I will vote accordingly.”

Wow, are you greedy. There’s no inflation according to government figures, so what’s the problem?

Agreed. Tonight it was the Trump and Cruz show. But they were all pretty good.

In the immigration policy paper posted on his website, Trump is highly critical of Zuckerberg’s desire to increase the cap on H1B visas, and of Rubio for proposing such an increase. That’s where he called Rubio Zuckerberg’s personal senator.

Tonight, Trump said he had no criticism of Zuckerberg or what he is trying to do (and said he had never called Rubio his personal senator). So, which is it? Does he oppose an increased cap or not? Does he even know that he opposed the increased cap? Does he know what was in the policy paper he posted on his website?

Trump flip flops on the issue.

I think the real issue is whether or not he supports H1b. Megyn Kelly went into a screeching banshee fit over whether Trump “lied” about his position, yada yada.

I do think Trump’s caused some confusion on this. He needs to clear it up.

Trump:

a) lied about whether he had attacked Zuckerberg, and
b) took one position on H-1B visas on his website (where he does attack Zuckerberg) and an entirely different position on H-1B visas in the debate tonight.

Typical politician.

I believe the Federal Reserve Bank is at fault, and many of the trillions owed are owed to them.

How do you spell relief? DEFAULT.

It’s almost like Trump doesn’t even know what is in his own policy statements.

LOL! Make a couple thousand statements a week (while in the traffic of a campaign) and then remember every one over the last few months...

For those who don't like Trump, their best bet to stop him is to give overwhelming support to their choice - money vs. lip service. Of course, many who take feeble slaps at Trump also seem to no have anything good/strong to say about who they do support...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

Except I'm not talking about one of the thousands of statements he makes a week. I'm referring to the immigration policy statement that is posted on Trump's website, which is one of only three policy statements on his website (the others being his tax plan and his second amendment plan). So, yeah, I would expect him to know what's in it.

The bigger deal for me was when Rubio said something along the lines of “companies abusing the system should be punished.”

BFD. Zuckerman is just another anti-American billionaire.

Trump has changed his position on shutting down the border.

If we don’t do that, nothing else matters.

The “Zuckerburg” -and Disney- approach is designed to import cheaper labor to undercut American workers. Trump is opposed to such abuse of the visa system.

Trump is for letting students stick around post grad, allowing H-1bs under certain conditions and LEGAL immigration, but only when it benefits America and it’s workers.

Yeah, the context of the exchange after the question was different than Trumps comment. That is why he denied it.

Politically, immigration is Trump's most important policy.

The fact that he NOW supports a massive increase in H-1B visas - just like Zuckerberg, Rubio, and Ted Cruz - is a huge and shocking admission.

Re: “BTW I’m sorry for the young people of today who will have to pay off the staggering US debt.”

Wise up, dude.

Our kids and our 40 million immigrants are going to take care of the debt the old fashioned way - they will default!

In the very near future you will be fantasizing about the “good old days” when all you had to worry about was a year with no COLA.

We have actually been in a continuous process of defaulting on our debts since FDR devalued the Dollar at the start of his Presidency. (Debt Default In America.)

The Administration's sanctimony & demagoguery on the subject may intimidate the weak Nellies in Congress, but the above link will demonstrate the point. Those who drafted our Constitution would certainly have agreed with my points.
