Jeb Bush's reviews from Wednesday night's debate were universally poor. But the power players -- at least on the record -- say it's not time to turn out the lights yet, insisting that debates aren't Bush's strong suit anyway, and pointing to other factors such as the CNBC moderators and the high hopes and expectations coming in.
The Republican debate had the potential to re-energize Jeb Bush's floundering presidential campaign, injecting it with optimism after deep spending cuts and continuing low poll numbers.
Instead, Bush's fundraisers and backers were left trying to explain why the man they had poured so many dollars into still proved to be such a weak candidate, delivering what was widely seen as a meek and ineffective performance in Boulder, Colorado.

Now if only the Democrats would get sensible and put an end to the Klintoon Dynasty/crime family (I can dream).
He will get out of the race and then will have more time to do cool stuff like fantasy football.
Anybody else concerned that somehow there might be a Hillary/Bush “national unity” Dem. ticket if one of the Republican outsiders gains the Republican nomination?
Did he really make a comment about fantasy football?
It is very simple to make sense of Wednesday night. Your candidate is a loser.
If not for a few big money donors writing Jeb Bush big checks early on he would have dropped out after the first debate.
How can anyone trust his judgement when he keeps evading reality and stays in?
Nope. Hillary is going to pick Julian Castro or some other young, token Hispanic that will help her get Democrats to show up and vote.
Hillary has no interest whatsoever in "national unity." Her only interest is in keeping herself in power.
I always get several gift cards as Christmas. They sit in my dresser drawer and never get used. That was until yesterday.
I had one Home Depot card for $35.00, one Sears card for $25.00 and one JC Penny card for $50.00.
I was able to trade the gift cards with the Jeb! Campaign.
The campaign sent over George H.W. Poppy Bush and Babs Bush in exchange for the gift cards yesterday.
HW was rolling around in the driveway for hours washing my Porsche. The secret service held the soap bucket for him. His wife was inside cleaning the toilets and doing the floors. She insisted I call her “SilverBabe” and showed me how she can make her eyeballs pop out real far when she does a shot of tequila. It really is kind of cool but I got pissed off because she drank all my Cuervo. She apologized, opened up her purse and gave me some stock certificates for Facebook and google. She says she gets them free. At one point Neil Bush stopped by. He was not too helpful. I found him in the back yard passed out, surrounded by dead toads. Apparently he had been licking them but I’m not sure why. He kept mumbling something about George P not having to work so why should I?
Overall they were nice and this morning I received “Thank You” cards from the entire Bush family. Something like 30 cards. Neil is still in my back yard.
I’m not 100% sure but maybe the campaign is getting desperate?
If debating isn't Jeb!'s strong suit, then how will he fair if he actually gets the nomination, then goes up against Hillary! in a debate?
The gray one, coupled with a power tie.
These financial supporters must know something nobody else knows, some slick trick, otherwise how can they justify throwing their money away.
I agree.
OUIT already, burrito breath
.
Then we can have it out between Jeb Trump, and Donald H. Clinton.
.
.
They got rich on crony capitalism, which requires them to be “Wealthy Donors” or daisy pushers.
.
I’m trying to make sense of Jebbie.
GOP base tells Jeb Bush, his donors, and GOP leadership..... no hablo espanol
Yes he did and Christie had a great response to it. You can find the clips on youtube. It is pretty amazing.
