I’ve heard reports the pilot radioed technical issues or some such.. If this is TRUE, a bomb is ruled out. But, is it true? I have no idea.

There was no distress call. And they seem to be speculating there was a bomb. Another site said one area was blackened.

It apparently isn't. Others monitoring the frequencies heard no such call.

The Russians have talked to the Egyptian ATC and he has changed his story about stating that the pilot said they were having technical problems and were descending for an emergency landing.
