Donald Trump: If Ben Carson hosted ‘SNL’ nobody would watch
Yahoo Political News ^ | 11/5 | Matt Bai

Donald Trump is prepping for his upcoming role as host of “Saturday Night Live” the only way he knows how: by boasting about his ratings — and insulting his Republican opponents.

The real estate mogul, who was replaced as host of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” following his controversial comments about Mexican immigrants, says it’s no surprise NBC asked him to host “SNL.”

“You’re never at war when you get great ratings,” Trump said Wednesday on CNN’s “New Day.” “Nobody gets ratings like me.”

Well, there you go, again.

It has absolutely nothing to do with tax increases. Your ignorance of trade and economy is showing, again.

I am not a supporter of Dr. Carson, but chump trump’s gratuitous insults of the doctor increase my resolve NEVER to vote for this critter.

Imposing tariffs has nothing to do with tax increases? And you criticize MY “ignorance of trade and economy”? Hint: a tariff is a tax. Imposing tariffs is increasing taxes. And, imposing tariffs on goods from Mexico does not force Mexico to pay those taxes; it forces the U.S. consumers who are buying those goods to pay the taxes.

I think this is another one Carson started first.

But the retired neurosurgeon also took an implicit swipe at his fellow Republican presidential candidate by saying he wouldn’t deign to host Saturday Night Live.
.
I think the presidency of the United States is a very serious thing, Carson said when asked Friday if he’d be interested in hosting SNL by Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. I don’t even want to begin to put it in the lightness of comedy.

Nope....wrongo, again.

If Mexico wants to play (trade) THEY’LL have to pay. Simple as that.

If they don’t want to play, then they can ship/receive goods, elsewhere.

It will be a nominal fee for them to pay, in order to keep trading.

Now, shoo.

Thanks, Duchess, for your post and link, proving Carson started this.

Once, again....the TDS’ers jump the shark, again.

In their defense, they are blinded....by their hate for all things Trump, so there’s that ;-)

That’s not how tariffs work. Tariffs are not imposed on the country from which goods are imported, they are imposed on the companies (or individuals) who are doing the importing.

So, to use Trump’s example, if the U.S. were to impose a 35% tariff on vehicles manufactured in Mexico and imported into the U.S., that 35% would not be paid by the Mexican government. It would be paid by Ford (and other manufacturers who make cars in Mexico and sell them here). And, like all taxes paid by a corporation, Ford would pass that 35% right on to the consumers who purchase the imported cars.

You obviously don't understand how the economy would respond to that. If it suddenly cost more to purchase product from Mexico, the vacuum would quickly be filled from elsewhere. The demand of the U.S. consumer is insatiable and others will come forward to supply that demand at a lower pricepoint. This is a global economy, not a Mexican economy. Soon, the Mexicans would be begging to build the wall themselves, just to get their trade back.

But that's just one way.

It has gotten to the point where I check just about everything :)

Trump does have a history of NOT attacking until he is attacked.

You might want to do yourself a favor and pick up Trump’s new book, Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again

Very educational. In fact, did you know that Mexico has a wall of their own? Yes, on THEIR SOUTHERN border. Isn’t that something?

Here’s how Trump says he’ll make Mexico pay for the wall...since you don’t care to do the research yourself, as you prefer to blather utter Open Borders nonsense....

page 25

How?
We could increase the various border fees we charge.
We could increase the fees on temporary visas.
We could even impound remittance payments derived from illegal wages.
Foreign gov’ts could tell their embassies to start helping, otherwise they risk troubled relations with America.

*******

See? No increased taxes, no tariffs.

Much more great information on our YUGE illegal immigration problem, and the problems and promises we’ve been dealing with for “more than 75 years”.

Do yourself a favor...and pick up a copy of Trump’s great book.

All proceeds benefit our wonderful vets, so it’s a win win. Vets benefit, AND an open borders lover will get the facts about the detrimental effects of illegal immigration, on this country.

"It's incredible, really. FR will become a much more reasonable, rational place (as it was until, oh, six months ago) when the Trump phenomenon flames out..."

Please, please hold your breath on this one.

“Did you see him with Jimmy Fallon?”

I did indeed see Trump on Fallon’s show and I laughed myself silly.

I was corrected on that one in a one liner on the board yesterday.

I suggested something like defense, and a poster said it should be the interior. Couldn’t argue...
