Every single European country requires you to carry a simple ID card on you. It’s the same card that they require you to show if you vote. And it’s the same card that you need to show if you want to open a bank account or conduct some business at the county office.

How bout this. We start by disallowing anybody wearing a turban or burqa.

An important edit: disallow anyone wearing a turban without a Kirpan. The Sikhs are good guys!

Just watch. Eventually everyone will need a passport to travel within the USA whether you are flying, driving, taking a train or other form carriage.

I still have My original card and says that on the front.
I point it out all the time.
They don’t care.

It’s common to surrender your passport at hotels in Europe, too, when staying there overnight.

I’ve been watching. If these states would do their job NOBODY would need a passport. Sorry but I’ve been hearing people insist BS like you are for 30+ years, and you always wind up wrong.

12 years ago when my daughter needed a passport I called my small town in Texas post office and asked about it, the local postmaster did not know why I was calling them.

Today, that same Post Office has big banners outside advertising that they are the “to go place” for Passports.

It is obvious they want us all to have papers.

I did cross the border at TJ once with some other Marines. We were literally surrounded by Mexicans and they grab us. We were all in excess of 200 lbs. I think they thought we were smuggling steroids. They were horrible to us and particularly upset with me as I refused to speak to them. Name rank serial. One of the agents started screaming at me wanting to know why I had been to Paris. Another Marine pointed out it was Paris Island SC. Morons the lot of them. Every time one is shot I always wonder.

Not only will they accept a US military ID but likely will confiscate it and put you on the no fly list.

I haven’t flown in years and have to plans to do so anytime soon.

Second that. I advocated for raising a provisional Sikh regiment in the wake of 9/11, similar to the British Gurkhas.

They won’t accept CCW in Washington state. I remember trying it years ago and getting this blank look (not surprising considering the drones in Seattle) before she handed it back asking if I had anything valid - you know - like a utility bill?

I didn’t let my disgust or my impatience show as I replied, “You’ve got to be kidding! You won’t accept this (my CCW card) which takes fingerprinting and a background check but you’ll take a utility bill? I’ve seen utility bills issued in dogs names! I’ve seen driver licenses issued to illegals”! (remember this was many years ago)

I shook my head and walked away from the purchase, chalking it up to my education in dealing with liberals.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Given the direction of this country, ANYONE who doesn’t have a passport now is a SITTING DUCK.

Indeed.

The law is clear and any “state issued” ID is legal ID. Says so in the law.

Bank reg/policy said the same thing.
