University of Missouri System President Timothy W. Wolfe resigned on Monday at an emergency Board of Curators meeting following weeks of protests over his leadership, a well-publicized hunger strike from a student and promises from football players that they would not participate in team activities until he stepped down.
.....members of the group Concerned Students 1950 pumped their fists in the air, shouting: "They said we couldn't do this," and "I believe we have won."
Concerned Students 1950 organized many recent protests. The group is named after the first year that black students were admitted to Mizzou. The group refused to speak with reporters, saying they "want to control the narrative."
When a photographer tried to enter the circle to get pictures of Concerned Students, he was pushed back.

In-state suburban kids that can and do pay their own way and who make up the bulk of enrollment will be looking elsewhere, including out of state.
When the cash dries up, we’ll see how committed Mizzou is to the cause du jour.
It is very seldom wise to give in to the demands of vigilante thugs.....I’d have thrown the thugs off the campus for inciting to riot.

Wolfe should have disbanded the team and sent them all to Class , that would teach them

It’s even more than that. I’ve read their ‘manifesto’ list of demands and they are basically asking for all these new faculty, buildings and centers to cater to blacks. Where do they think the money is going to come from to fulfill those demands?

Tried to read comments but they did not appear unless I registered and logged in which I don’t want to do. Totally ridiculous situation. Football players on scholarships get free housing, free meals and a free education. They should shut down the football program and kick out the protesters. Would send a strong message to those who have a free ride with basketball and other sports. But they won’t. Pandora’s box has been opened. Expect it to happen in other states across the U.S.
Next, the Univ. of Missouri will change its name to The Missouri Institute for the Perpetuation of Racial Grievances & Suppression of White Privilege.
He should have told the black football players that they are welcome to surrender their athletic scholarships. They suck anyway. They only have one SEC win this year.
Most of those players wouldn’t be in a place of higher learning anyway. I believe players should have to get into college on their on ACADEMIC MERIT. College athletics is all one big fraud.
The new mantra:
Equality is racist.
Anything less than preferential treatment for non-whites is racist.
Merit based outcomes are racist.
