Atheists Blast Ted Cruz's Response When Asked How Important It Is for a President to 'Fear God'
Atheists are decrying Ted Cruz’s recent claim that any president who does not pray to God each day is unfit to serve as commander-in-chief.
The Center for Freethought Equality, a secular lobbying group, released a statement on Monday condemning the Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate over a response that he gave to a question at the National Religious Liberties Conference in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday.
Cruz, who was asked how important he believes it is for “the president of the United States to fear God,” responded, “Any president who doesn't begin every day on his knees isn't fit to be commander-in-chief of this country.”
He added, “We're a nation that has enjoyed God's blessing, providential blessing, from the very beginning.”

It was a response that led Bishop McNeill, head of the Center for Freethought Equality’s Freethought Equality Fund PAC, to speak out, claiming that Cruz perpetuated a “prejudiced myth.”
“By claiming that those who do not pray are not fit for office, Senator Cruz is perpetuating the prejudiced myth that humanists and atheists are not moral people,” McNeill said. “There are a number of recent studies that show that despite how religious Americans remain, a majority of people would vote for a qualified atheist for president.”
The activist cited a recent report from the Pew Research Center that showed a growing proportion of Americans - the so-called unaffiliated “nones” - who are either atheist, agnostic or unattached to a religion, accounting for nearly 23 percent of the population.
“In his callous dismissal of humanists, atheists and other secular Americans, Senator Cruz also shows that he is out-of-touch with the growing number of Americans who are not affiliated with any religion,” McNeill said.
I don’t care what atheists think.
All the more reason to support Ted Cruz.
“I donât care what atheists think.”
But they care how you think, and you better think EXACTLY as they do, because that is how “liberal tolerance” looks.
Amen!
On the subject of atheists, John Adams said it best...”That’s their problem”.
Atheists: We don’t believe in God... and we hate Him!
Atheists should be experts at “blasting” people, because they are in league with Hell itself.
Atheists can go to hell.
They won’t believe what’s it like!
Heh.
“Freethinkers”, atheists, are such great thinkers, they do not NEED a moral compass. By sheer dint of logic, they can arrive at the correct response to a situation every time.
Either that, or their investment in random happenings is sure to be shattered sooner rather than later. For them, there are no blind leaps of faith, only blind leaps.
They ridicule those who fear god, but they fear death as much if not more than god fearing people.
Ted’s Response should be along the lines of
“And their reaction shows exactly why there NEEDS to be a God, because unrestrained anger like that points to a NEED for a universal objective oral code to restrain such anger in most people, for without such a code, society would be an ‘anything goes’ society that would be detrimental to us all- and fortunately our God has provided just such a code. It’s just too bad that some angry individuals refuse to get to know the code giver”
There was a time when an atheist’s testimony was inadmissible in a court of law. After all, to whom could an atheist make an oath of attestation?
Judge a man by the enemies he makes...
I would have simply responded, “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom.” Next question. Idiots wouldn’t even know they were being insulted.
A ‘none’ isn’t necessarily a humanist or atheist.
Some people just say that and non-denominational interchangeably, and some say none meaning ‘none of your business. ‘
âBy claiming that those who do not pray are not fit for office, Senator Cruz is perpetuating the prejudiced myth that humanists and atheists are not moral people,â
And he proves it everyday by showing what a fascist nazi he is - as all the national socialists are.
Is it just the believers who think the only thing greater than themselves MUST be God or a god? Is there really nothing between us and God?
prejudiced myth that humanists and atheists are not moral people
= = =
And what do these moral humanists and atheists use as the basis for their morals?
