The debate?
Well, I thought the most interesting moment came when Donald Trump brought up Eisenhower:
Let me just tell you that Dwight Eisenhower-a good president, great president, people liked him. 'I Like Ike', right? The expression 'I Like Ike'? - moved a million and a half illegal immigrants out of this country, moved them just beyond the border: They came back. Moved them again, beyond the border: They came back. Then moved them way south. They never came back.
To the establishments of both parties and the media, Trump is beyond the pale. Yet he keeps, confidently, moving beyonder. And, as he does so, he's moving the pale.

Well worth the read.
Trump Ping!
Sundance’ take on Steyn’s piece.
That is an interesting picture. The campaign sign in the crowd reads “Frank Culotta Republican Club.” Frank Culotta is a famous Las Vegas mobster who worked for Tony “the Ant” Spilotro. I did not know that Frank was involved in Republican politics.
O’Reilly tried to slam Trump hard for Trump’s mentioning Ike’s illegal immigration deportation program.
Didn’t work. Trump fired back with a left hook to Bill’s chins.
“Si, se puede!” The Donald
Go Trump!
Rush compared BORe to Ted Baxter on the show today. Made me chuckle because it’s so true!
Good for Trump!
Did you listen to Rush today?
He said everyone is saying that we can’t deport all of those people and break up families.
Rush said they would have no problem imprisoning and breaking up families of tax evaders.
It was great and I am hoping the transcript gets posted later.
TRUMP/WALL 2016!!!!
That is interesting. I wish someone would write a book on the republican party of that time.
I know my dad, a republican, was already disgusted with the “elites” in the party in the early 60’s and he hated anything to do with the mob.
I liked Taft.
“Rush said they would have no problem imprisoning and breaking up families of tax evaders.”
Rush got that from Mark Levin, who said that yesterday, leading to a larger point that we shouldn’t ignore the law in any situation just because it might affect the children of said lawbreakers. He had a very good point on that.
It’s just a paste of Mark’s column. Not worth the click.
"The argument made by Bush and Kasich against enforcing the immigration laws is an appeal to moral preening: this is "not who we are". But using mass immigration to destroy the lives of your own citizens? That's exactly who we are."
Elitist scum who wish to ensure that they and their families remain at the top by destroying the US politically and economically.
What if you want to read the column? You do realize that this is Mark Steyn’s website?
How pitiful a candidate is Jeb? This pitiful: He's not even competitive in the bleeding-heart compassionate establishment squish sub-section of the primary. Kasich offered sentimentalist pabulum - "Think about the children" - and elite condescension: Trump's position isn't "adult". But Jeb basically previewed his general-election fetal position: We can't talk about this because we have to play this game on the Democrats' terms.
LOL!
I don't quite get the good doctor's appeal, but a mild-mannered man insisting that he attacked his mother with his hammer is certainly a novel kind of candidacy and there seems to be a market for it.

Great stuff.
