I don’t have a problem accepting the Christian refugees, if they are legitimate. But the Obama administration has banned resettlement of Christian Syrians (on grounds of “church and state”) and will only take Muslims.

I watched it and I liked it, especially the part where he had relatives of people killed by legals come up and tell their stories. Trump is the only one doing that and I am glad he is. The media has been studiously ignoring the crime that illegal immigration brings to our country for decades now. There is one reason that immigration is an issue this cycle and Cruz is not that reason. The subject may not have come up as a major issue if it were not for Trump. The truth is that Cruz will be exactly as tough on immigration as his donors let him and not one bit tougher.
It isn’t so much that he won, but Clinton lost.
You can bet your very last nickel that, after a quick rework by a collaboration of the moderators and the candidates, tonight’s “debate” (which is a perversion of the word), will basically be a showcase for how tough the Dems are on terrorism.

Immigration is a winning issue on many fronts besides terrorism - general crime, economy, public assistance, education, healthcare, union labor and jobs, national debt, etc etc etc. It is also the issue that crosses party lines pretty easily because many blue dog democrats will vote for the person who wants to get our borders under control.
This issue is a winner. Cruz should triple-down on immigration and make it the focus of his campaign because it’s obviously the main thing that propelled Trump to the lead and Cruz has far better credibility than Rubio or Carson.
