The media is as much to blame as anyone. Bill O’REilly and all the others question the fairness and cruelty of deporting. I say, screw them. Just deport them. I don’t care if you fill up the courts... and it costs billions. Get rid of every single illegal in this country. The idiot in the WH won’t do this. So let’s get someone in there who will. I guarantee you, that for the start it will stop any new illegals from coming in. Kasich, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Bush etc. Enough. THese guys don’t get it. Trump does.

The article doesn’t say. Given that there was one innocent killed at the stadium, it could very well have been the guard.
I had to fly home late last night, and in the middle of the flight while most people appeared to be dozing with all the lights down, a guy of evident middle east extraction got up and began rummaging around in his bag he pulled down from the overhead.
Yeah, I profiled.
I watched him pretty closely. He was just a businessman getting some thing from his bag, but he had his back to everyone, and he was doing something under his jacket as he faced forward, so I couldn’t see what he was doing, nobody in front of him could see him, the only ones who could were those to the side of him, and the lights were down and they appeared to be sleeping...so, yes. I watched him.
I am certain I was probably not the only one.

The guard - identified only by his first name, Zouheir - said he discovered the attacker's suicide vest while searching him at the entrance.
The attacker detonated the vest as he backed away from security said Zouheir, who was told what happened by the security team at the gate.

I suspect that the guard was mohamedan. If you note in the article, it states, “The Wall Street Journal spoke to one of the security team on duty at the stadium named only as Zouheir.” ‘Zouheir’ sounds like it may be Algerian.
If private security in France is anything like private security in Canada, most security guards are immigrants and quite possibly, the guard that denied access was ‘visibly’ moslem (ie: African or Middle Eastern). THAT would make sense that the bomber would back away from the guard, go elsewhere and blow himself up, to kill ‘infidels’, rather than fellow moslems. Too bad La Surete weren’t able to get him first.

Nice flip answer. What was the guy supposed to do? When you go to sporting events here what kind of weaponry do they have? A wand? The guy may have immediately blown himself up taking the guard with him.
The circumstance of the guy’s detonation suggests to me the possibility that the vest was detonated either by a preset timer or remotely.
If the vest was remotely detonated or, more likely, on a timer, shooting him would have got the guard killed. If the fellow blew up where only he was affected then I would suspect strongly that the vest was on a preset timer, timed for going off shortly after entering the stadium.
What if it turned out just to be a clock for a science project instead of an explosive vest?
If you’re actively looking for people smuggling in weapons, then it does seem a good idea to have some serious firepower of your own (per post #39).
