In an interview that aired on CBS’s “60 Minutes” Sunday, newly elected Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) 58% said he hopes to lead a House of Representatives that is “functioning again.”

“I think wiping the slate clean was about wiping the slate clean in Congress and getting Congress, the House functioning again,” Ryan said.

However, part of that Ryan said will require finding “common ground” with the Obama White House.

“Look, if we can find common ground, we can on highways, we will on funding the government, hopefully we can on tax policy,” Ryan said. “Those are three things that will produce certainty in this economy in the next few months. Let’s go do that.”

Ryan also vowed that there would be no mass deportation of illegal immigrants while he was serving as House Speaker.

I suggest the proper response to him on deportation is to remove him as Speaker then.

So the Speaker is openly violating the constitution and the rule of law..he should resign but he is too much of a scumbag to do that

See? there’s no downside to electing lesser evils at all. We won and thats the ONLY thing that matters. Not what we WIN with.

Will he find common ground with a real, Republican president?

No.

Find ‘common ground’ with Obama, but not concerned with finding ‘common ground’ with the American people.

Well, Ryan, remember Obama sign Exec Order to let them in so Trump can sign one to get rid of them. And, do take it to Supreme Court cause they would have to BACK the law since they are ILLEGAL

“certainty in this economy in the next few months”... the kind of goal Venezuela has!

Conservatives wanted Boehner gone so... success!

Actually there was no downside to ditching Bhoner because he is gone. As soon as the lesser evils sold us out again with Ryan, this outcome was a given. And it was a given they would sell us out. It’s their reason to exist. The solution is to not ever elect liberals with an R.

Hamilton said it best. Better the enemy in their own camp than yours (ours).

Any common ground means we conservatives have lost.

Common ground with a homosexual muslim communist. Only rimos and gopers have common ground with such as that.

.....some 40 odd representatives knocked themselves out to get rid of Boehner and now, seemingly, this guy is worse than Boehner. What does that say about our 40 hard conservatives in the House? It seems like they all rolled over and caved? If so, we’re back to square one only worse!

Just to clarify. Bhoner was already doing this. This isn’t new. It’s no worse when Ryan does it. You cant get worse than a total sellout.
