That's like planning to contain plutonium in a Tupperware container.
Bad analogy, plutonium is an alpha emitter and a Tupperware container would stop alpha particles quite nicely. As a matter of fact you could wrap plutonium in newspaper and a single sheet of paper would do an effective job of shielding the stuff.
Your skin will also stop alpha particles, if however, you were machining a 'pit' for a nuclear bomb and inhaled a bit of plutonium dust you would soon die of cancer as a source of alpha particles is now inside you and destroying tissue.
