Now 24 Republican governors - and one Democrat - say they don't want to accept Syrian refugees

President Obama said the United States needed to 'step up and do its part' admitting refugees from Syria

He said that the issue of refugees and terrorism should not be equated in the aftermath of the Paris attacks

A handful of Republican governors have publicly pronounced that their states would not accept Syrians

Obama made a swipe at those GOP leaders - asking them to be more like President George W. Bush in the aftermath of 9/11

Now, 25 Republican governors - and one Democrat too - have said they don't want Syrian refugees in their states, as President Obama recommitted the U.S. to take a portion of this population fleeing from ISIS.

In a press conference this morning in Turkey, Obama said that 'the United States has to step up and do its part,' while chiding those in the opposition party for suggesting there be a 'religious test' for entry into the United States.

There's concern, after Friday's brutal attack in Paris, that ISIS fighters are infiltrating those fleeing Syria and will carry out future violence against the West.

'It is very important,' Obama said. 'That we do not close our hearts to these victims of such violence and somehow start equating the issue of refugees with the issue of terrorism.'

However, Republican governors from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Texas and Wisconsin said they would postpone programs to bring in Syrian refugees, or they're against the idea entirely, according to the Associated Press.

Additionally, CNN reported that Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Nebraska, Ohio and Tennessee are also on the list.

Kansas, Oklahoma, South Carolina were added by USA Today.

Above, states where governors have voiced opposition to Syrian refugees are in dark red, with states voicing support for the resettlement in pink. Gray states have not made a statement, suggested a review of the policy or have said that they do not expect and refugees would be sent to them. My home state, the Communist People’s Republic of NY, has made no statement. I can translate that non-statement as “We’re taking them but don’t want the negative publicity. Give them to us but do it quietly.”

look at their Eadership in the "allowing" states and you have your answer. Those bleeding hearts are going to get us all killed. No more Muslim imports period.

I imagine West Virgina, Nevada, Wyoming North and South Dakota will all say no.

I bet New York is leaning no. When it should be the #1 state after September 11th, 2001.

A point has been brought up about these so-called ‘refugees’, aside from a political one.

How many of these buzzards have any kind of real skills, because there is a bunch of radio talk about these fools REPLACING you at YOUR job?

Surprised at Montana. I have a feeling that should be colored gray.

Also surprised at Oregon. My guess is they are begging for to help Obama any way they can.

The Govt has contracted with agencies like Catholic Charities to accept and move the “refugees” to “processing centers” run by the agencies. This is happening now.

How does a governor’s words stop that? How does a governor’s words override a contract let by the government?

I think it’s going to take a cordon of National Guard and sheriff’s deputies to stop the bus and turn it around with a warning not to stop until it’s back at the port- words won’t work here.

The constitution was swept aside with "charter of negative liberties".

The backup, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Nikki Haley in my state of South Carolina is wavering but I think she’ll come to the good side. Our Muslim problem includes a “Holy Islamville” compound in the woods upstate.

Only there’s just one problem: what if the muzzies who flood into the bleeding-heart states decide to move to other states?

Do we have to institute border checkpoints at state lines?

Recall that the pat-down security nightmare at our airports is often called proof that the terrorists have already won.

What if states will have to secure their borders against muzzie invaders from other states?

The State have no say in this issue. Obama and the UN make the choices of what refugees come here and where they go.

Liberal elites don't care if American women and children are killed in 'flyover'... Liberal elites care if people at fancy DC dinner parties see them as 'compassionate' and as 'citizens of the world'. This is about their big fat egos... it not about protecting the American people -it's about them 'looking good' to fellow elites they want to impress.

If our children are blown up in flyover it's entertainment for DC elites - and an excuse for them to expand their already bloated bureaucracies.

I’ve been saying from the beginning of the airport “pat down”. Our government was preparing us to get used to the government doing anything they want to. We’re now seeing the government doing again, what they want to do to us.
