Good to see Cruz has finally come around to Trump’s way of thinking. Before Donald announced, Cruz wanted to expand visas five fold and never mentioned a wall. All aboard the Trump train.

I think you could be right.
Trump will be the battering ram to open the door for Cruz to get in as VP. I think Trump is who is needed to win the general, but I also think he would greatly value Cruz as a VP (and main adviser). They can tackle the tough issues together and Cruz will be great to take over after the first 4 years.

What’s totally wrong? That Cruz has been a consistently effective conservative for many years, or that Trump gets his talking points from Cruz?

I did not hear Trump name Cruz as VP. Not even close.

Been around a fair number of SOCOM types in a past life and with few exceptions they were calm, usually serious (but not always) and had little need for egotism. Highly competitive but quietly confident.
Trump style ego could be catastrophic if allowed free rein at the wrong time.
