Head Cheerleader Banned From Competing After Tweeting an Offensive Comment About Immigrants

The head cheerleader at one Massachusetts high school has been banned from cheering for the rest of the season after she tweeted an offensive comment about immigrants.

Caley Godino, a senior at Revere High School in Revere, Massachusetts, was asked to watch the political debates leading up to the 2016 presidential election. Her teacher tweeted a comment about the low voter turnout for November's mayoral race, which prompted Caley to post a controversial tweet.

"When only 10 percent of Revere votes for mayor cause the other 90 percent isn't legal," she reportedly tweeted. (Her profile is private.)

As of 2010, 27 percent of Revere's population was born outside the United States. Caley says she intended the comment to express her political views, not her views on race, according to MyFoxBoston.com. Her political views were inspired by Donald Trump. But after several students complained, school officials

"If you're going to stand up and say something that other people will find offensive, then you need to be prepare to deal with the ramifications of that," Superintendent Dianne Kelley told MyFoxBoston.com.

Caley is now banned from cheering for the rest of the season, according to her mother.

The superintendent said that the tweet was not the sole cause for Caley's punishment, though out of concern for student privacy, could not comment further. Students and teachers at Revere High are now joining together to create a curriculum to address diversity and acceptance.

“What a freakin moron. Superintendent needs a new job.”

It’s Massachusetts, the Superintendent fits in quite well in
that bread basket of the Northeastern Communist Block.
The rarest thing there is someone with a backbone and now you
know why.

I hope she sues the school for violation of her first amendment rights.

Side lesson: nothing good can come from Twitter.

Yes, sad to say you’re probably right.

We had a student in my state write that the principal of her school was a prick. He would not let her take part in extracurricular activities. She got a lawyer. She won.

I read somewhere that the United States Supreme Court warned public schools not to deny students their First Amendment rights. This girl has a good chance if she decides to go to court.

And besides, she seemed to be discussing illegal immigrants, not necessarily immigrants in general.

Combined PING! and DANG!

A lawyer could disassemble this woman in court, especially if the jury finds what she did offensive, I mean, if taking offense is the new legal hurdle.

American education has been feminized into oblivion.

I would lawyer up and file suit against the system and individuals working in the system for violation of my civil rights. The supreme court has ruled on limits of student speech before. If these little brown shirts have to pay out of their own pockets for once they will think twice before taking on the 1st Amendment.
