A five-year-old boy was discovered hidden under his mother's lifeless body inside the Bataclan Theatre after she sacrificed herself to save him.
Elsa Delplace, 35, used her body as a human shield to protect her son Louis when ISIS gunmen opened fire on the crowd at an Eagles of Death Metal concert in the theatre.
Her mother, 61-year-old Patricia San Martin, also died during the massacre, one of a series of coordinated attacks on the French capital on Friday night.

If someone in that concert hall had a gun the carnage would have been MUCH less..but thanks to gun control laws these people were sitting ducks
My comment to her was that when you look at the great accomplishments done in the modern world that required new ideas, new technologies, leadership, discipline, commitment, and sacrifice...things like the Panama Canal, putting a man on the moon, winning WWII, curing polio, and as much as blacks would like to deny it, ending slavery, it is “typical white people” who have done it.
Full disclosure here, as a mongrel of mostly Hispanic origin, I have no dog in this fight.
The point I was making was that when push comes to shove, “typical white folk” are not afraid to make the hard choices, they are not afraid to do the hard work, and they do not quit until the job is done.
There are too many who have been mistaking meekness for weakness and they will wonder, “what just happened” when “typical white folk” have had enough.

61-yr-old grandma was there, too (and, unfortunately, she also died in the shooting.)
Mom’s actions were heroic, but it did strike me as odd that the 5-yr-old (or the 61-yr-old) would be there.

I confess I had never heard of the group and assumed the name indicated their style of music.
