The ability to fight for a more racially just society is predicated on the ability to name and confront the continued presence of racial injustice through public speech acts that bring attention to these issues. You are correct - they have a right to feel offended all they want - but an earlier article had a statement from a teacher who stated that if folks wanted to be offensive, they needed to accept the consequences.

I don't have easy answers to these questions. America does not have a one-size-fits-all definition of freedom.

What a pantload and a lie. It is clear that the author of this has both the answers AND a one-size-fits-all definition of freedom.

It is equally clear that definition is a one-way street. Some animals are just more equal than others and it is clear that the author and favored groups claim the right to decide the hierarchy, based on passed wrongs, either real or imagined, which the favored group suffered or even thinks they suffered.

The wrongs of the past are passed . . . as in fully digested and discharged from the lower end of the large intestine.
