Showdown? Dem Mayors say “yes” to Syrian Muslim refugees while governors say “no”

Expect a showdown in the next few weeks as hundreds of ( mostly Sunni Muslim Syrians (selected by the UN) are already en route to Democratic Party-run cities.)

I’m betting these mayors, who are bucking their mostly Republican governors, are also presiding over sanctuary cities for illegal aliens.

This news is from (CNN)

"WASHINGTON (CNN) —Democratic mayors across the country are clashing with mostly Republican governors who say their states shouldn’t accept Syrian refugees.

"More than half — 31 — of the nation’s governors, most of the Republicans, say they oppose letting Syrian refugees into their states. The final say on allowing refugees into the country falls with the federal government, though governors can slow down the process and make placing and aiding refugees more difficult."

[….]

Because the United States Conference of Mayors has not changed its refugee policy since the Paris attacks, the group’s communications director Elena Temple-Webb told CNN Wednesday she believes the mayors will continue to welcome refugees.

The Democrat mayors have to bend over backwards to prove they are liberal. They will pick up Obama’s talking points how we are afraid of widows and orphans and 3 year olds.

The party lines have been set. Democrats have to prove they are “tolerant” so they have to follow Obama’s lead on this.

Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is featured in the CNN article. Rawlings-Blake is working with Muslim Brotherhood affiliated charity Islamic Relief USA to bring in more refugees from Africa and the Middle East to beleaguered Baltimore. Pittsburgh’s Bill Peduto is one of the Dem Mayor’s saying yes.

He was of course challenged on that, and stood his ground.

Mysteriously the day after that it was all over the local news that the Pittsburgh Police had placed his home and the street it is on under high security with enhanced patrols.

None of the coverage mentioned any specific, credible threat. Clearly this is a piece of Alinsky street theater intended to drive home the message that those EEEEEEVIL REPUBLICAN TEA PARTY people are the REAL terrorists! Oooooooh.....he helped the poor Muslim refugees so some EEEEEVIL white guy with a gun was now going to come and harm him.

Leaving aside for a moment the fact that every Conservative Tea Party member still residing within the City of Pittsburgh could fit comfortably in a school bus.

Not impressed that taxpayer funds were expended to use the Police Department for an act of pure political theater.

You are right about that. The refugee resettlement business is huge—in the billions of dollars. It is mostly undertaken by leftist organizations and religious groups. The Dems funnel taxpayer money to them to further their political agenda.

This may actually benefit the country in the long run. After seeing the state of many Dem-controlled cities, the refugees will probably want to go back home.

The difference between these refugees and the ones that appeared on our shores a hundred years ago is what is between their ears

MY father emigrated from Canada in 190-something and after having eight kids, six boys and two girls ... he STILL never spoke French in the home

MY Dad was an American ! through and through

THIS batch has come with NO intention to assimilate

Just like the usurper in the white mosque .... not one American thread in his fabric.

My prediction is that there is going to be an attack on American soil by the end of year (may by the end of this month). This attack will rival what happened in Paris last week.

It will change the rhetoric of this issue radically.

Follow the Money!!!

That is the key to solving the problem. Follow the money and choke it off. The "charities" pushing to import "refugees" don't care a whit about the "refugees". They do care about the pile of money they can pocket for each "refugee" they can process into a location in the US.

I am in agreement with you.

The attack will be with be from muslims using lots of guns.

The rhetoric that will change will be Obama with an EO for mandatory gun registration and confiscation and ALL sales will require full federal vetting to only parties allowed by feds. All the dems will be for this EO. It will be passed, but not executed or acted on. It will make the dems feel good, but the EO will still be on the books. Similar to how many gun control legislation is on the books but not acted on, off the top of my head CA and WA.

The dems are just waiting, hoping and waiting....
