He’s making up things out of his head- like the remark about a theocracy. He fears a theocracy while no one else is even considering it. But he doesn’t want to look like the conspiracy theorist he is so he projects the idea of a theocracy onto someone else. While if his account is true, they obviously had never given it a thought until he mentioned his fear. So, he rushes in to imply that the goal of Christians is a theocracy. Riiiight... protestants opposed to bloated central government want a theocracy? I think he made that conversation up.

Liberals always project their assumptions onto others and put words they expect to hear in the mouths of people they refuse to listen to otherwise.

Regarding projection, it is worth noting that in the 20th Century militant Atheist Communist governments killed tens of millions of their own people. So Salon’s co-religionists of the last century were a real danger of the highest magnitude.

You can’t expect better from one who is so obviously compromised. However, he better fear a theocracy, but not one by American Christians, one by the King of kings and Lord of lords. The other short term one he needs to fear is an Islamic Caliphate. Liberals get their heads cut off almost as fast as Christians and Jews in one of those. I and others have posted many times, unrighteous makes one stupid. When you reject God’s truth you lose all basis for discernment of what is evil and what is good. Look at our current president - our nation voted him in twice! That tells you all you need to know about where America is at currently when it comes to discernment. And the nuke deal with Iran? Our current crop of leaders mean it for evil - both Dims and Repulsians, but where are we the people? The number of citizens that really get it is getting a lot smaller. If by a miracle Cruz were to win this next election, every liberal in America would be attacking him 24/7/365. Then, as opposed to now, every law that restricted the power of the executive branch would shift into hyper drive (I’m not opposed, just making a contrast) and his kindergarten teacher would be interviewed in an effort to find dirt on him. Such is the world of progressive dreams and it leads to the same place as the one for good intentions.
