Thousands of paramilitary forces from the country's powerful Revolutionary Guard have held a war game simulating the capture of Jerusalem's Al Aqsa Mosque from Israeli control.
Iran's state media reported Saturday that the forces stormed and "liberated" a replica of the mosque in the exercise. They say that 120 brigades from the Basij, the paramilitary unit of the Guard, participated in Friday's exercise outside the holy city of Qom in central Iran. ...

If they preform as they have in Syria against Israel, expect that taking the Mosque will remain a 12er Shia fantasy, in the minds of the very few who return to Iran ...

In a common mistake, the Guard set up a replica of the gold-topped Dome of the Rock instead of the nearby mosque. Oops!

Just wondering how they plan to get all those troops into Israel and then inland to the Mosque. I believe Israel has tools at its disposal which would detect the arrival of several thousand troops across its border.
And if it ever got to a point where Iran has troops within the city limits of Jerusalem you can be sure Iran has been turned into a parking lot.

Israel should let an Iranian column capture the mosque, though unfortunately during the “very violent Iranian assault”, the Mosque gets totally destroyed, leveled in fact, with not two bricks still together.
After the rapid Israeli recapture the temple mount stays vacant for a few years while the new temple of David plans are ironed out.

Temple “of David”? With all due respect and with regard to the temples being named after their builders, the first temple was named for Solomon and the second for Zerubbabel, traditionally.
There is also the matter of the temple and the Ophel, where the Gihon spring is.

120 brigades?
3,000-5,000/brigade?
360,000-600,000 soldiers?
Wouldn’t Israel be able to see that happening long before they got that group to the target?

Once the battle in Syria and Iraq and everywhere else in the mid-east goes full bore; Iran may find parts of its’ Islamic Republic glowing in the dark.
By that time, to quote Canklesorous, “WHAT DIFFERENCE WILL IT MAKE”. o..kay.... paraquote. :-)
