Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Tehran for talks with Iranian leaders about the crisis in Syria.
On his first trip to Iran in eight years, Putin met with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday, as Russia nears a third month of military engagement in the conflict.
The discussions come on a sidelines of a one-day trip to Iran for a summit of gas-exporting countries.
Tehran and Moscow have supported Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the ongoing civil war that has crippled the country since 2011 and killed over 250,000 people. The violence has displaced millions more.
On September 30, Russia's military launched its first airstrikes against Islamic State militants, in addition to fighting other groups. Some of these groups are moderate Syrian groups supported by U.S.-led airstrikes and opposed to Assad.

Obama is Shi’ite as is Iran and Assad.
One would think Obama should side with Assad, but instead he has seemingly sided with the sunni terrorists of al Qaeda sympathies, although EVEN THERE he has done nothing of substance.
What this has done is create a vacuum that Iran can fill with its warriors in Iraq and N. Syria. Essentially, Obama has created an excuse for Iran to be involved, and Russia is a long time supporter of Iran.
Across the board, the Shi’ites win: Iran, Assad, Obama, and their sympathizers who can ‘act after the election’.

Donald Trump slammed President Obama Thursday on TODAY for failing to take a stronger line against President Vladimir Putin in dealing with Ukraine, saying he feared Obama would now make up for lost time with imprudent moves to "show his manhood."
The real estate mogul and reality-TV star, who has criticized Putin for sending military troops into Crimea, said Obama must now take fierce steps to prevent the situation from escalating further.
"We should definitely do sanctions and we have to show some strengths. I mean, Putin has eaten Obama's lunch, therefore our lunch, for a long period of time," Trump said. ..."

Maybe you need to address your grievances to the management, about how he is doing this all wrong, allowing reasoned and principled discussion, and discouraging personal insults as he does. This site has provided a forum for vigorous discussion and debate between conservatives for over 19 years. Some of us appreciate that fact, as there is not another one that can compare. Not one.
Maybe you can appeal to SJWs and get someone to sign on to #ETLbombastmatters, but I doubt it.

I recognize the fact that Ronald Reagan won the Cold War, and that the Soviet Union is dead, and that Russia has attempted to warn the US as to the dangers of socialism and has been ignored, and has warned the US of specific terrorists and been ignored. Those are not the actions of a hostile nation. Rival nation? Certainly. Every competent leader seeks to put his nation at advantage. Enemy? No, or there would not have been such warnings.

He has done nothing against Assad except talk and allow a vacuum to be created by his inaction. What happened when he drew a red line? Do you remember? He has actually done very little at all, and absolutely nothing to impede Iran and Putin.
His inaction has laid the groundwork for Shia to take over the Levant.

I think the main thing which the Western elites hold against Putin and Russia is the refusal to get into the globalist hot tub. They won’t sign on to a One World government, they won’t sign on to queer agendas, they won’t allow their culture to be dissolved into secular, Rousseau fantasy mush, and they embrace and promote Orthodox Christianity. That is such an affront to the globalists in the West that they are enemy #1.
Unless the EU further suppresses the popular will, Euroskeptic, nationalist parties will begin to cast off the Brussels yoke. This is a dangerous time for the transnational movement which has only gained ground since the early post-war period - until now. They should have known that you can’t train snakes.
