The Failure of the Jeb Bush PAC’s Autumn Ad Barrage
National Review ^ | 11/24/15 | JIM GERAGHTY

Was Jeb Bush SuperPAC's big advertising push in early autumn the least effective multi-million dollar advertising campaign ever?

In mid-September, Jeb Bush's SuperPAC, Right to Rise PAC, unleashed $24 million in advertising, mostly in key early primary states - $6 million in Iowa, $12 million in New Hampshire, $4.7 million in South Carolina, and the remainder elsewhere.

Using the RealClearPolitics average as our measuring stick, Bush moved from 4.8 percent in Iowa on September 15 to... 4.8 percent today. He got as high as 7 percent on October 20.

ALL these low tier candidates are just in it for the
cash flow of having a campaign.

They should bow out NOW!

The JEB media gurus are causing a meltdown — the most popular JEB commercial shows him talking with a medium-size group, stunningly slump-shouldered. Incredible.

Among presidential candidates, I think I'd go with John Connolly, who spent $10 million in 1980 (about $35 million today) and got one delegate. In state races, all the money spent against Scott Walker ($30-$50 million) failed to moved the needle, and Michael Huffington's race in California, which did nothing but foist his emasculating wife Arriana on the rest of the world.

The media gurus get a 15% advertising commission kickback from the tv and radio stations.

The gurus only care about their advertising commissions kick backs and how they can empty their donors’ pocketbooks.

By all objective indications the electorate does not want Bush. Yet, he persists and that makes him spooky. The other alternative being he and his staff now something we don’t know knowledge of which will provide him with the nomination.

And for your contributions GE, you get such-and-such amount of my time as president. And for your contributions Boeing, you get such-and-such amount of my time as president. Etc.

Yeb also apologized to the 'crowd' and explained a campaign screw-up...they had ordered cots but were delivered chairs, instead.

Having mercenary Mike Murphy as a campaign manager and having him fleece Bush the way he has almost — almost — makes me feel a very little bit sorry for Bush. Then I remember all the nasty things Bush said and continues to say about conservatives and any feeling sorry goes out the window.

Jimmy Carter's campaign spent $50 million back in the late 70s and 1980 and a sitting President got swamped.

There are loads of losers that have millions spent by 'Political Expert Consultants' {taking a piece of the action} making sure that you can't lose. Happens every cycle.

The Kasich PAC is about doing the same. Just look at their first two ads. Talk about being out of step with America, the smart-alecks like Karl Rove fashion themselves so much slicker than us ‘lowlifes’ out in the hinterlands. They actually believe they can discourage/convince/dupe us with their ads to not vote for Trump. They want us to sit out the primary and then after they get their favorite son nominated, they believe they can come back to us and tell us we have to vote for their guy in the general election. So, first they want us to sit out the primary, then they want us to get behind anointed pick in the general election. When the stupid ad campaigns go up in smoke, things will really get interesting because then they will feel the noose tighten around their throats.

He DID manage to beat Edward M. Kennedy with a good chunk of that money in the primaries. Back then almost everyone took matching funds, limiting raw expenditures. Connolly decided NOT to take the matching funds, which is why his $ number for the era is so high.

All the money in the world won’t help a candidate if no one wants to vote for him.

Bush’s name recognition isn’t even an asset; its a liability.

But he’ll keep on slogging even though he has no realistic chance to win the GOP nomination.

He’s way back in the pack. That’s a long way to get back in contention.
