How alarmed were New Jersey officials by reports of Muslims dancing in the streets of Jersey City and Paterson on Sept. 11, 2001, to celebrate the destruction of the World Trade Center?
They feared riots would break out and were ready to send in the National Guard and the State Police to preserve order.
But John J. Farmer Jr., then the New Jersey attorney general and the state's chief law enforcement officer, said on Tuesday that he ordered an investigation that very day and found the reports to be bogus, more wild stories born in the stricken hours after the attacks.
Nevertheless, those ancient, false rumors were recycled as truth over the weekend by Donald J. Trump, who has folded them into his calls for the national registration of Muslims and possible closing of mosques.
Reporters were unable to find any evidence for his story, but Mr. Trump stuck with it in a television interview on Sunday. "It did happen," he said. "I saw it. It was on television."
Few people, if any, could address the circumstances more definitively than Mr. Farmer, who went on to serve as senior counsel to the Sept. 11 commission.

How is it that they can’t see, we are sick of politicians and politics as usual. We are fed up with the illegal invasion of our country, having to work two jobs just to put food on the table. We aren’t going to “see the light” and vote for someone else.

As I recall, there were Muslims celebrating in Washington - Seattle? maybe, and other places along with the east coast. Where on the east coast I don’t remember.
I do remember being furious that it was happening in the United States. Yes, I saw the Middle East ones too but that did not make me nearly as angry. My thinking was how could an American citizen celebrate the attack on America? Seemed like treason to me.
In the 1930’s they could not find any evidence of mass starvation and mass executions in the Soviet Union and one of their reporters even received a prize for lying about it.

And not only THAT, but look at what the media is accomplishing with this. Just look at all the FR conversations and fighting about it over the past few days. We’re being played. Are Trump bashers so hung up on bashing that they’re going to allow themselves to be played, ONCE AGAIN, by democrats? Don’t be stuck on stupid. They’re laughing at everyone who spends more than 10 minutes discussing this. What friggin difference does it make? Who CARES if Trump ‘misremembers’ something? His “style” of not backing down scares them to death. Embrace it. With Cruz as his VP and then as President for another 8 years,... Can you imagine?!

See? We DO agree on something. I'd much rather Cruz were in first place all this time instead of Trump because he's much better with the Constitution. But Cruz won't attract liberal cross-over votes. We have to get enough votes to overcome all the dead people, illegal immigrants, and felons who will be voting next November. If Cruz had Trump's outspoken, take-no-prisoners personality, he would be perfect, but he doesn't. Give him 8 years under Trump, though,...
