I noticed my, uh, methane problem and heartburn disappeared (or very nearly so, particularly the heartburn) when I was doing Atkins, so I suspect it’s related to the carbs intake we all generally have too much of. Any time I do a full cleanse (about once a year, probably try it tomorrow) I follow it with a live-culture yogurt serving or three. :’) Hope you had a good T-giving, glee’.
Ate at friends, turkey, ham, gravy, sweet potatoes with pineapple, collards, salad, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, among the healthy items. After a two hour football and digestion break, not so healthy dessert. ;-) My toenail fungus cleared up with Atkins. A lot of us have systemic candida albicans which tell us to eat more carbs and sugar. Give them up for a few weeks and the little basxxxxx die, perhaps making you feel a little sick, and desperately telling you to eat more sugar and carbs.
I did, however, make a low sugar dessert for our host who is diabetic—one can of plain pumpkin, one packet of sugar free vanilla (or butterscotch) mixed with 1 3/4 cup lower fat milk, and about 1 1/2 cup Greek style plain yogurt. Added Sucralose or stevia for sweetness, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove powders to taste. Also some nice no sugar added butter pecan ice cream. I will spend the next two days on a semi fast as I have a baby shower to attend on Sunday. The holidays are sooo hard! Cheers.
