Ted Cruz was born with full citizenship of both countries. He ditched his Canadian citizenship and is good to go.
The end.
If only the parties and media been so curious about the background of the current occupant of the White House.
All Cruzers should be aware and prepared that if Cruz is on the ticket whether as Pres or VP, the Dems and Hillary are coming after him in the courts about his eligibility, and there are plenty of liberal judges out there, a given, who don’t like Cruz.
When does the challenge for Marco Rubio come?
Is Cruz considered a citizen of Cuba also via his dad? I don’t think his dad was a Canadian citizen?
Nope. We only do the dual citizenship thing with Canada.
Oh I see the check from Bush/Kasich must have cleared....
Don’t spend it all in one place Dallas Morning News.
I think Cruz passes the test for citizenship mostly because I like the guy.
Yep you can’t trust the GOP-E.
I'd say they're paying about as much attention to this as they paid to the birther arguments when Obama was running.
Hillary won't come after Cruz; she won't have to. There are enough people calling themselves Republicans who will do that for her.
Come and gone: "Another challenge came from Robert Laity, a resident of Tonawanda, N.Y., who describes himself as founding president of the Society for the Preservation of Democracy and Human Rights, and who has called Obama a traitor. He challenged four Republicans - Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio, former Sen. Rick Santorum, and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal - on the grounds that at birth, each had at least one parent who wasn't a U.S. citizen."
Not under the Cuban citizenship laws. Even if he met the other criteria, Cuba does not allow dual citizenship. If citizenship is granted by another country then the Cuban citizenship is lost. Cruz was a U.S. and Canadian citizen from the moment he was born.
If friends of YEbBer! fail, Hillary would take it up and give us the impression that her dirty little fingers are far from it, but she would ensure finances would fund court challenges.
How does Rubio fit any definition of natural born citizen?
The 14th Amendment does not change the term, and anchor babies are not in the Amendment.
Rubio would have the least ability to prove eligibility.
Cruz has an American citizen mother—that alone qualifies him.
That is not true.
My son has dual (U.S. / German) citizenship. At the age of 18, however, he will have to decide which to retain.
Regards,
I knew we only do it with a few countries but Canada is most common. We certainly don’t do it with Cuba.
Lots of Canadian and American citizens have been born in the other country simply due to the fact that they used to go to the nearest hospital.
Cruz’s mommy was old enough to pass her American citizenship through the blood stream.
Bammy’s mommy was too young, but no one in the media ever points that out.

Wasn;t there a president in the late 1800’s that had a Canadian parent?
