Ankara: Turkey has moved 20 tanks to her border with Syria as tensions with Russia continue.

Military sources from Turkey said the tanks were moved by rail to an armored brigade at the western border with Syria.

Reports also say 18 fighter jets were sent on a patrol exercise near the border.

A military source told Turkey's Anadolu agency: "Accompanied by police and gendarmes, 20 tanks were sent by rail from Turkey's western provinces by railway to Gaziantep in the south of the country, and then redirected to the Syrian border."

Assad is being removed because he’s not muslim enough according to Obama, Turkey, Saudi, UAE...

I think that's a big part of it. And, Commie Obama doesn't get along with Vlad, because Vlad isn't doing Communism right, either.

Jim said nothing in praise of Putin. He correctly identified the culprit (Obama) and identified the likely course of action by Obama.

Oh, cripes’ sake! Why not spare yourselves the humiliation — and save your tanks from the scrap heap? If Russia wants Turkey for Thanksgiving (see how I did that?), it will be a gravy (!) train. The Bear will kick the stuffing (!!!) out of the raggies before they can say “falafel.”

This one time I don’t like both sides. Russia is being lead by hard core criminals with Putin at it’s head. Turkey is ISIS in disguise. So, I guess maybe Turkey has given Russia great targets so let it begin. Goodbye Turkey and no, NATO will not help you.

US manufactured fighters and missles flown by Turkey are superior to what the Russians fly; and I bet they know it.

This American president most assuredly approved the shootdown or even recommended it when apprised of the opportunity. Turkiye, as Islamist and apparently anti-American as it seems, does understand the uses of NATO and will not set itself outside of the umbrella by doing something like that without approval by the Americans. This is an act by Baraq Hussein and the Russians know it.

I think you are making the mistake of letting your views of domestic politics control your views of our nation's foreign policy. It does not really matter much what you or I do or say, but it has been proven to be a bad bet to bet against the USA.

I would never let my feelings about Obama change my feelings about Putin. I know that Obama is not the most competent of our presidents, but even he is more competent than Putin.

The USA is a lot more than just our president. Our economy keeps growing while Putin's kleptocracy continues to deteriorate. Putin has chosen kleptocracy over a free market economy. That is an incompetent decision.

It is Putin who incompetently provided some of his drunken friends with rockets that would shoot down planes. He probably miscalculated and did not foresee that his friends would shoot down a commercial airliner and then loot the crash site. But, that costly miscalculation is hardly a sign of competence.

I suspect Putin knew that his jets were disrespecting Turkey's airspace and I suspect that he thought it was funny. I view it as another costly miscalculation.

So, I think that unfolding events are not demonstrating that Putin is the genius that some people seem to think he is.

Mort, do you agree that the USA should grovel and scrape before Putin (as Jim suggested in post 15)?

"Islamic State Turkey plans to drag NATO into a War with Russia so Muslims can move in to take over whatever is left"

That is the way it looks to me too, however two things not taken into proper consideration; India, China.

I am sorry, but you know Obama blew it. He did so years ago.

We will not attack or even defend Turkey beyond a fig leaf.

Obama is a pussy on the World stage. He is entirely responsible for the ‘Arab Spring” while simultaneously turning his back on the much more important ‘Green Revolution”.

Voting against a country that would not once, but twice elect Obama is a pretty good bet. Besides we can brush off as a ‘win’ anything that saves us the need to protect Erdagon.

Our economy has seen no real growth in over eight years. We have a government and Federal Reserve that have propped up the market through cheep money, massive government spending and smoke and mirrors. Or do you believe that Unemployment is at 5%?

I don't think Putin is a genius of any type. He is simply a smarter than Obama and his entire staff. Of course so are my four year old twins.

Assad will survive. Putin will make Obama his boy, as he always does.

I did not say that we should. I said Obama will scrape & Grovel to get out of this mess.

He is a pussy. Everyone of our ally’s and adversaries know it.
