David Leyonhjelm uses Paris attacks to further a dangerous pro-gun agenda

People like Senator David Leyonhjelm are using the tragedy of the Paris attacks to further their pro-gun agenda, twisting facts to create a narrative that is misleading and dangerous.

On Tuesday, in response to a tweet that read: “Aust’s tough gun laws have better insulated us against a Paris-style terror attack, Keenan said ...” Leyonhjelm tweeted:

In fact, Leyonhjelm has appointed himself Australian “spokesman” of the NRA, the US pro-gun lobby, which has political influence disproportionate to everything but its donations, and released a statement after the Sandy Hook massacre saying, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” What a load of rubbish.

Moving on from panty wad assclowns in France, we travel south of the equator to get an Aussie's view point on "dangerous pro-gun agendas". Reading some of the comments is, uh, interesting.

So if several people in the theater had had guns there would have been more killed than were> Or is the problem that if there were citizens with guns in there some Moslems would have been killed? No really. I saw it when I was driving a cab. This gun came out of a guys bag and tried to rob me. I couldn’t believe it! The poor guy holding it didn’t know what to do!!

BTW, I threw the car in park and ran out. In the middle of the street, late late at night so no one was around.

I called the cab owner and he was more worried about the cab than me. I told him it was parked a bunch of blocks away on the street lol.

Crazy days.

Pick ups at delis or street corners that are called in are usually bad news. No home address to track the person.
