A bunch of people were shocked to find out over Thanksgiving dinner that members of their family support Donald Trump for president.
The support for the real estate billionaire shouldn't be a surprise to anyone paying attention to the presidential race so far. According to Real Clear Politics, Trump has the support of nearly 28 percent of registered Republicans in an average of recent national polls. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson sits in second place with just under 20 percent.
But perhaps those who lamented their pro-Trump relatives on Twitter thought that it was other peoples' families that are supporting the reality TV star.

Trump Ping!
But wait. Didn’t they go to the Democrat site which had talking points for how to talk to your Republican uncle?? They didn’t have talking points to point out how bad Trump is??? They were shocked into silence????
Whatever one thinks of Trump.....he’s got crossover appeal.
Does anyone have an idea about how many Democrats support Trump?A lot of traditional working class Dems aren’t going to want Hillary or Bernie.Obama has poisoned the well.
Mark Steyn, ‘the vetted immigrant’, covering for Rush today, read quite a few ‘tweets’, with the same effect.
And yes, I am a Trumper.
I found the same thing yesterday. I heard the name Rubio a couple times but, I made sure that everyone understood that was like voting for McCain or Romney and real Republicans won’t support him. They asked who I would vote for and I said Trump/Cruz. I asked them to take second look.
I must say I love the tweets by the democrat twits.
Happened with my family too, in just the same way.
When I showed historical and recent ***PROOF*** of Donald’s sincerity with respect to out Vets and Brave Warriors, they were shocked to find out what a great man he truly is and they became angry at the national media for keeping them in the dark.
I’m angry too, maybe a little too angry but we all have every right to be angry, because anger follows hurt, as a shield and defense against further hurt. And the national media have hurt us in a big way.
So it’s right that we throw it back in their faces and put the fear of God in them. They need it.
Already knew who would and who wouldn’t. Definitely affected the invite list. :-)
The whole family will vote for Trump if he’s the nominee except for one 17 year old who will be old enought to vote in the next election who is running around with a Bernie Sanders sticker on her car. She doesn’t like Trump’s personality. The good news: she loathes Hillary (as do most of her friends) & if Hilly is the nominee, she absolutely won’t vote for her. I suggested that someone might want to educate her as to the definition of “socialism”: (noun) You make it, they take it.
What I find interesting about Trump is you will find people all over the place who find him crude, revolting, insulting, obnoxious, but these same people say absolutely nothing about Obama wanting to import 680,000 Syrian “refugees” into the USA even though it’s been highly publicized that up to 30% of these ISIS “refugees” could be ISIS members. What is that? 204,000 members of ISIS? An Army? So in other words Trump talking like their brothers tough guy friend is horrifying to them, not the fact that they could find themselves cornered in a mall any time soon with a Musloid slicing their throat open like a pig or worse being forced to watch it happening to their kid. Incredible the low awareness that exists in this country.
I think that’s the question that scares the hell out of these people. They spend so much time worrying what Republicans think about Trump, but he gets a bunch of crossover support from white blue collar workers. I guarantee the DNC stays up nights worrying about this issue.
I attended a community Thanksgiving luncheon with about sixty local business owners on Tuesday. All said they were supporting Trump, and were very open about it. It seems people are not as intimidated anymore to openly oppose MSM and the Es.
Yesterday, my dear old ill father said, “If I am alive next Nov, I will vote for a Republican for the first time in my life.” ...Trump!
:-)
Some other funny things happened on the way to the pecan pie .. instead of talking about gun control at the groaning board, families were discussing what kind of piece might best suit them: caliber, revolver v. pistol, recoil, etc.
Buhwheat Obama say, “Not Otay!”
OK, next—climate change! Onward and upward, Junior Obama Birdmen! Up in the air ...
The problem is, those people you speak of are the same people who believe in “moderate muslims”. Like there ever was such a creature.
Nice!
Wow!
