I didn’t see the Rugers but many of them had ARs. The guy in the helo had a M4. That was announced on the scanner during the big firefight between Farook, his wife, and the police.

This is NOT True! You can own AK series weapons in California. They have to be equipped with a mag release that requires a “tool” ( the nose of an unexpended cartridge, hence the acronym “bullet button”), and you are limited to 10 round mags. Alternatively, you can remove the “evil features ( i.e. pistol grip, collapsable stock and flash hider), and then you can do away with the BB.

Well, There's your problem. If the Legislature had banned these guns, then this would have never happened. I hope that the law is fixed and these evil guns are taken away from everyone. Then we will be safe. Gun laws are good, more gun laws are better. I feel better already.

They tried that and it didn’t stick. “Building personal firearms” is a huge enterprise in California. People will always find a way around unjust law. Gun stores are fluorishing in California and their shelves are filled with AR/AK style weapons. And the end of 2A restrictions is contained in a decision by the Ninth Circult Court ( which is currently under review) that will overturn California” ( and Hawaii’s too) restrictive carry laws. No matter how the review ends up, it will form the basis for a final assault on government overreach at the SCOTUS.

yes clips are usually short for stripper clips which are used to load say a 10 round sks using 7.62X39 from the top. they drop down into the magazine. the ak-74 is a redesign of the ak47 (year suffix) which were all based on the sks.

Actually, the case alone does not prove that it was from an AK.
You can get a 5.45 x 39mm upper for an AR.
