Virtually all of this jihad stuff originates in Saudi Arabia.

He’s dead now so it appears his motivation will always remain a “mystery”.

Good point. I bet many of those with the Coexist stickers were the first to call this a white hate crime. Saw some of their first tweets...unreal.

The only reason I can see for a young moslem male to go flying of half-way around the world it to make his hajj to Mecca. While he was there he picked up one-quarter of his authorized quota of four wives. She must’ve been in an AQAP training camp outside of KKMC.

Redirecting everything into an anti-Saudi narrative happens faster than spinning everything into an excuse for gun control.

Yes, concur it's a good movie, and no amount of weasel-wording the script can "work around" the mass atrocities of the Khmer Rouge --
who, let us remember, were the political and military protégés of .... <
drum roll> ... China! Our buds, who spread nuclear technology all over Asia in a "dropped knife" strategy. (God, I hope they get stabbed first! I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the next Politburo meeting afterward .... assuming my fly could follow fluent, screaming Mandarin.)
Addendum: Schanberg might have reflected on the question, how was it that the Vietnamese, who got bombed several times more, and more often, than the Khmer Rouge, did not commit the same atrocities the KR did, at least in anything like the same scope and severity?
Wakey-wakey, New York Times. I swear they were hypnotized in the 1930's and have been under the control of the (dead) Walter Duranty ever since.

His wife was the one who helped him carry out the killings.
Kind a a bummer to do jihad with your wife — she’s going to get really nasty about those 72 virgins.
BTW, they had a little daughter who is now an orphan due to the choices made by her parents.
