Kid you not, The Killing Fields was on TV again the other night in Houston, and this time I noticed that one of the American characters, Sid Schanberg (of the NYT), said it twice for sure, maybe more, that the reason the Khmer Rouge were such savages, such slope-browed murderers, was because the USAF bombed them in their jungle redoubts so much.

"Blowback", you see. Said it twice, maybe thrice. Pathetic. Oh, and did I mention decadent?

I saw the same movie years ago. good movie till he said that line. I haven’t watched it since.
