“As usual, Trump by failing to take care with his language leaves himself and, worse, his idea open to criticism.”
In other words, Trump did not provide a “safe zone” for all the snowflakes who can’t take reality.
No matter what choice of words Trump could use, when he came down to the bare meaning of the thought, he would have been attacked.
That may be true but Islam appears to be at war with us. case in point:
Nidal Malik Hasan (born September 8, 1970) is an American convicted of fatally shooting 13 people and injuring more than 30 others in the Fort Hood mass shooting on November 5, 2009. Muslim.
Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarnaev, October 21, 1986 – April 19, 2013) and his brother Dzhokhar Tsarnaev planted bombs at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. The bombings killed three people and reportedly injured as many as 264 others. Both Muslims.
Nadir Hamid Soofi and Elton Simpson on May 3rd, 2015, attempted to storm a cartoon festival in Garland, Texas and massacre Americans exercising the first amendment rights in the name of Jihad. Both Muslims.
On July 16, 2015, Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez opened fire on two military installations in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He first committed a drive-by shooting at a recruiting center, then traveled to a U.S. Navy Reserve center and continued firing, where he was killed by police in a gunfight. Four Marines died on the spot. A Navy Sailor, a Marine recruiter, and a police officer were wounded; the sailor died from his injuries two days later. The motive behind the shootings is currently under investigation. Muslim.
On December 2, 2015, 14 people were killed and 21 injured in a mass shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California, United States. Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, a married couple, targeted a San Bernardino County Department of Public Health training event and holiday party of about 80 employees in a rented banquet room. Farook was an American citizen of Pakistani descent, and his wife Malik was a Pakistani-born legal resident of the U.S. The attack was the second-deadliest mass shooting in California after the 1984 San Ysidro McDonald's massacre, and the deadliest in the U.S. since the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.It is the deadliest ISIL-inspired attack in the United States to date. The attack was just 22 days after an ISIL attack in Paris killed 130. Both Muslims.
...and then there's 9/11, the first WTC bombing, the USS Cole, Benghazi, the Paris attacks, the belt way snipers, ...
Obama is at war with Christianity . . . from day one.
Other than that, they don’t like his tone.
Wonder what their tone will sound like as some Muslim jihadist (immigrant or refugee) is sawing on their throats?
I’ve seen the ISIS recruiting video. Wish I hadn’t.
Islam sees a future with only Islam and no one else.
The future is going to be everyone else with no Islam.
The question is how soon, and how bloody.
He’s right.
America is not at war with islam.
They are at war with us.
Islam has to be denied religious status, and acknowledged as an enemy terrorist organization at war with America. Then Muslim citizens can be arrested and jailed or deported, just as American Nazis could be during WWII.
It can be done. There is no way "religion" was meant to mean a protected belief system that teaches the murder of non-members by the first amendment. No. Way.
He’s telling the truth. We are not at war with islam. But islam is at war with us and that’s the problem. We’re not fighting back.
Why would he be, he is one with them.
Americas, OTOH, has a serious problem because of this traitor.
They have declared war on us no matter what Obama says.
I believe the end is nigh and our Lord and Savior is getting close to HIS return. When HE returns, Islam is over and done with.

Preach it, brother. Perhaps the Muslims will take note.
On that score, Obama is right. America is not at war with islam. However, both islam and the American Government is waging war against the American people. And at this point, they are winning.
I do believe you, Jim: but he’s right - America is NOT at war with Islam.
Islam, however, is very clearly at war with us, and our refusal to acknowledge it is what gives them a huge advantage.
The idea that you can exclude American citizens because of their religion alone is clearly repugnant to the Constitution. If you can show a conspiracy or if you can show some overt act such as serving in the Army of a foreign power like Isis, you can probably constitutionally deny that citizen his normal rights.
It is not even clear that you can deny immigration to a class of noncitizens based on religion alone. God knows how the Supreme Court would rule, it is possible of they would look of the fourteenth amendment granting equal protection to "persons" and declare the practice unconstitutional. But one thing is very clear, you simply cannot deprive American citizens of their rights simply because they adhere to a religion.
