Hours after Donald Trump suggested the U.S. ban Muslims from entering the United States, the leading Republican presidential candidate said America should also consider “closing the Internet up in some way†to fight Islamic State terrorists in cyberspace.
Trump mocked anyone who would object that his plan might violate the freedom of speech, saying “these are foolish people, we have a lot of foolish people.â€
“We have to go see Bill Gates,†Trump said, to better understand the Internet and then possibly “close it up.â€

“Going to see” Bill Gates is my favorite part. It’s truly telling.
If this is who Trump sees as the go-to guy for information on the internet is speaks volumes about how little he knows. It also tells us to whom he’ll listen when it comes to solutions: an anti-freedom liberal. Nothing good can come from consulting with Gates about freedom.
If you want to close up the internet, talk to the guys who created the Obamacare website. They know all about D.O.S.P.O.S. software.
And shutting down the internet would mean a near end to offshoring of US tech sector jobs.
I’ve long been an advocate of bit-bucketing China’s routes to US blocks. At the very least, all APNIC traffic should be traversing some level of security (a monstrous undertaking to say the least). Why not cut off Pakistan and a couple other problem children too? Not much good comes from there

So what? “Out of context” is exactly what the MSM will always do when given a chance, and it’s exactly the tactic they will use to make sure Trump loses to Queen Hilary.
Therefore, because Trump appears totally unable to discipline his tongue enough to avoid remarks that can too easily be taken out of context, you may as well get used to the idea of Her Highness, Madam Rodham.

Uhh, he didn’t say to stop just Muslim “immigration.”
No, he said we should temporarily ban ALL Muslims. Therefore, not even Israel’s best friend, King Hussein of Jordan, would be allowed to enter the USA.
Now of course, you and I can be reasonably confident that Trump didn’t really mean we should in truth go to this extreme.
But I submit that once such a crazy statement is made, no amount of “walking back” is going to undo all of the damage — especially the damage to our relationships with friendly Muslim countries like Indonesia and Egypt.

I want the man that will reclaim our U.S. Constitution in full, not one that will ignore the sections he views as obstacles to his agenda. Obama's extra-Constitutional lawlessness must be repudiated completely by the next President to preserve the Republic. It ends here and now or else the federal government, free of the constraints of the Constitution, will eventually evolve into an oppressive regime with complete control over the people.

it scares me that he is using blanket statements. I am all for shutting down communication of the jihad’s but the type of monitoring and shut down he seems to be proposing is the type you see china doing. the blanket statement of not allowing Muslims period into the united states and if they exit on vacation not allowing them back in scares me because the reasoning can be turned on yo any religious group you don’t like.
I cant stand the Muslim religion personally. I think it has more akin to Nazism. I think we are in a war against the religion and our current leader either does not understand it or is secretly supporting the other side because he is Muslim.
trump when he makes these statements Like outlawing Muslim movement through our borders is leaving it up to you how to interpret what he has said. This is a form populism that has More in common with the Populism Obama used in 2008 to get elected in my opinion
at this point I think we can do a lot better with Cruise then with trump. if you listen to Cruise he says most of whhat trump says but that 20 percent I don’t like is not being said.
I never said I wont vote for trump he just is not my top choice if he is the republican nomination I will vote for him because the alternatives are a Democrat Hillary, a politician who is incompetent and has shown her support goes to the highest bidder both foreign and domestic. Sanders a Socialist who will bankrupt our country because he has no understanding of economics.

Of course, all of this ignores the fact that if we close the “regular” net, all it will do is drive the traffic onto the darknet making it more difficult to track.
