Huh? Carter basically did nothing. He approved and attempt at rescue, but a sandstorm thwarted that. It cost 8 American lives and was then canceled.

I saw this in a post yesterday. After I got out of the Marine Corps in October ‘79, I enrolled at Ohio University. I lived in a dorm assigned to international students. It’s been said on FR that all the Iranian students were sent home after the hostages were seized. If so, they forgot a few at OU because those Iranians remained on campus.
