The Texas senator had so much trouble saying anything bad about Trump that he actually ended up complimenting him in the process.

WASHINGTON -- GOP presidential candidate and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said Tuesday that he disagrees with fellow contender Donald Trump's proposal to bar Muslims from entering the U.S. -- but "isn't interested" in criticizing him.

"In the media, there has been no shortage of criticism for Donald Trump, and I do not believe the world needs my voice added to that chorus of critics," Cruz said at a press conference. "And listen, I commend Donald Trump for standing up and focusing America's attention on the need to secure our borders."(continued)

The conservative Texas senator was attending the press conference to push several pieces of legislation that would effectively keep Muslim refugees out of the country. One bill would put a three-year suspension on resettlement of refugees from countries with a substantial Islamic State or al-Qaeda presence -- which are mostly majority-Muslim countries. Cruz has previously voiced support for allowing in Christian refugees from those countries.

Cruz voted for Ron Paul’s bill to put a stop to immigration from countries with suspect refugees. Rubio, of course, Lindsey Graham, Mccain and the usual suspects voted against it.

Lets all stop kidding ourselves. Anyone attempting to fix this country, what the liberals since at least GHW Bush have done to it, can go back to LBJ, FDR and Wilson, but as it is it takes more than even just billions to beat Hillary right now then a lot of support.

There is not a politician around who can do that and adhere to the constitution. Te donors of billions do not have any interest in that

Senator Cruz introduces bill to let states reject refugees

snip
Cruz said he had also authored legislation to impose a three-year moratorium on refugees
coming from countries where Islamic State or al Qaeda controlled significant territory, and
another measure that would strip U.S. citizenship from any American who traveled abroad
to fight with militant groups.

Cruz also commended businessman Donald Trump, who is vying with him for the Republican nomination
for president, for “standing up and focusing America’s attention on the need to secure our borders.”

I think that Trump’s proposal is excessive and I don’t agree with it. But I still support him. Many, many of his other supporters feel the same way.

It’s not excessive; it’s entirely reasonable. While all Muslims are not terrorists, they all follow a terrorist.

As a group, they are dedicated to the complete overthrow of Western civilization. That’s not rhetoric; it’s a fact. Islam cannot be reconciled with American values and violently opposes all reform.

There are westernized Muslims in the U.S. who escaped what they call “political Islam” and want no part of it.

That being said, we should accept Christians and Jews from that part of the world first before accepting any Muslims. But a complete ban on Muslim refugees is farther than I want to go and it just gives the PC Left rhetorical ammunition. Hopefully the damage won’t be fatal and he’ll be the next President.

Good to see Texas fighting back!

If Senator Cruz cured cancer you’d criticize how he did it.
