Donald Trump has again succeeded in setting the terms of political debate, this time by calling for a temporary halt to the admission of all Muslims from abroad, whether as immigrants or as visitors (ânonimmigrantsâ being the technical term). Everyoneâs outraged, of course, but this is a topic that needs to be addressed head-on.
First of all, itâs important to underline that Congress can exclude or admit any foreigner it wants, for any reason or no reason.
Non-Americans have no constitutional right to travel to the United States and no constitutional due-process rights to challenge exclusion; as the Supreme Court has written multiple times, âWhatever the procedure authorized by Congress is, it is due process as far as an alien denied entry is concerned.â
Whatâs more, while the president doesnât have the authority that Obama has claimed, to let in anyone he wants for any reason (under the guise of âparoleâ), he does have the statutory authority to keep anyone out, for any reason he thinks best. From 8 USC §1182:
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate (emphasis added).

Rand Paul had a bill to stop Muslim immigration from all countries with an ISIS or Al Queda presence for three years. Only 10 Senators voted for it. Cruz voted for it and Rubio voted against it.
Crude but effective. No more muslims. I like it.
Kirkorian is an idiot for joining in denigrating the person who has brought more focus to immigration issues than anyone for decades. Mr
K won’t bring new support to his immigration organization by joining the likes of Lindsey Graham in trashing Trump.
Poor judgment on his part.
I am guessing that the “Is it legal dunces” on Ted Baxter show haven’t ran across these legal points. They just argued that treaties and UN rules would not let us restrict immigrants on basis of religion. Either they were lazy or had an agenda. I am guessing they had orders to make Trump look evil and or stupid.
Pro-Israel people, esp. liberal Jews, think that Israel should be allowed to defend itself, but they put limits on just “how much defense” it should be.
We pro-Israel conservative types think that Israel should be allowed to defend itself to the degree that is necessary to eliminate the threat to their existence and to the right to have a normal day/life without bombers, knifers, shooters, kidnappers, and Islamic genocide.
Other than that, there isn’t much difference. Sarc/
“Non-Americans have no constitutional right to travel to the United States and no constitutional due-process rights to challenge exclusion”
So why are billions of OUR taxpayer dollars being spent on immigration lawyers, judges, courtrooms, food stamps, housing, Medicaid, social workers, translators, translations of printed matter, bilingual employees, nonprofits, schooling, jails, etc, etc, etc to guarantee that their “rights” are respected?

I searched the title and didn’t get a response!

It’s been clear for a long time that you are an anti-semite, but your post is absurd and way over the top.
There’s no such thing in the real world as immigration control, or gun control, or refugee control.
If someone wants to kill someone he can buy a gun illegally, and if an ISIS terrorist wants to enter our country and commit mass murder he can enter our country illegally.
The difference between Democrats and Republicans in this election season is that when a murder is perpetrated by immigrants, the Democrats go wild about gun control and Donald Trump goes wild about immigration control — both for political purposes.
Only an idiot would believe that politicians have supernatural powers to prevent criminals from buying guns illegally, or that a mere promise from a politician to ban Syrians from entering our country can actually prevent them from doing so.
So day after day, the political discourse consists of idiot Democrats versus idiot Republicans.
The only way to keep ISIS terrorists from killing us is to kill them first — in Syria and Iraq, so they can’t come here. But neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump will propose going to war. They have no reason to, since all they need to do to get nominated and elected president is to continue to fool their gullible followers into believing that they have supernatural powers to magically stop ISIS by simply banning guns or immigrants.
Cruz/Fiorina 2016
LOL!! Team PAC!
“The only way to keep ISIS terrorists from killing us is to kill them first â in Syria and Iraq, so they canât come here.”
We have heard this booshwa before from the Bush admin. Two trillion dollars and thousands of dead and wounded warriors with arms, legs, eyesight destroyed were sacrificed for killing the bad guys so they wouldn’t come here.
Well they are here. It is too darn late.
Your whole post is a joke. You are the one playing politics.
And you can keep your Snarly. She couldn’t even get 10 people to a Townhall.
Lots of people complain of that. Usually it's because one or the other of the posters alters the headline slightly (or a lot -- a total no-no) or they type it in by hand instead of copying and pasting, making small changes without noticing. Then the other title won't come up. Yours seemed a perfect match, however; so the onus is on FR. I think things have gotten more complicated technically since the rise of phone apps, FB and so many platforms besides desktop and laptop.
