To cleanse the palate, a gun-grabbing “effort” distinguished by its lack of effort. At some point America’s creative class decided that celebrity PSAs should all operate the same way. The cast appears sequentially, usually standing against a uniform blank background, and instead of uttering a sentence or two they each say chunks of sentences that are stitched together to form a statement.

“Gamechanger: Celebrities join Obama in reminding America that they oppose gun violence(LOL)”

Who doesn’t hate gun violence? Damn, I hate when they change the message and these stars buy into it because it is safe and gives them PR. Same with climate change. “Would you want to see a world without pollution and extreme climate fluctuations?” Of course I would. But that isn’t the real question.

This is, after all, a new class of superior human beings, or so a visitor from another planet might conclude perusing MSNBC or the pages of the supermarket tabloids. Many appear to be bereft of surnames - Chad is seeing Valerie on the sly after siring Jessica's little carpet drooler, meanwhile Bob is dying from some unmentionable disease entirely unrelated to his beachside romp with Jeffrey and a roving band of Hell's Angels...no, I don't know any of them, and I don't want to. "Celebrity Babies!" Geesh.

Nevertheless, they do appear to be keeping good company in the most fatuous, superficial, arrogant, feckless intellectual simulacrum ever inflicted on senior political office in the long and occasionally sordid history of the United States government. If we could manage to contrive a live trap baited with fame we could drown the entire disreputable lot in the nearest stagnant pond and the country would be the better for it.

How many of them are bazillionaires because they appear in movies, etc., where they ARE gun toting thugs or are part of gun violence scenarios?

Alex: You needn't take it any further, sir. You've proved to me that all this ultra-violence and killing is wrong and terribly wrong. I've learned my lesson, sir. I see now what I've never seen before I'm cured, praise Bog!

Well yeah. Regular old violence isn’t a problem. Only gun violence is an issue. Axes, hammers, machetes, baseball bats, rocks, hands, feet..............meh.

“Gamechanger: Celebrities join Obama in reminding America that they oppose gun violence”

Who doesn’t oppose gun violence?

Do they support knife violence or fist violence or stone violence?

What an idiotic comment.

The operative word is VIOLENCE not guns! And inanimate objects are not the source of violence.

Their statement is " We CAN stop gun violence"

My question to them is, "If you CAN, then why haven't you?"

I’m as interested in hearing what these so-called celebrities have to say as they are interested in hearing what I have to say.

Celebrities join Obama in reminding America that they oppose gun violence

What normal person isn't oppossed to gun violence against the innocent?

But as good Americans these window-licking Obama butt-kissers should publish the names of everyone they know who is FOR gun violence.

Oh- Wait.

They can't do that.

Those are the same people they pander to and make excuses for.
