I think a trump nomination is likely, if far from certain. If that results, I will vote third party.

Most of the republicans who vote will vote for the republican nominee just because they are the republican.

So you believe establishment type Republicans that want to kick Trump out of the party would then vote for him? Yeah right.

Keep digging your political grave, GOP-e. You’re dead to us regardless.

By all means, insert another Dole/McCain/Romney into the top spot.

That is a guaranteed winner/s

Cruz has defended Trump and stayed away from attacking him more than anyone else in the race. Anyone who thinks Cruz has anything major against Trump is dreaming.

If Trump has more delegates than Cruz but not enough to win outright, I believe Cruz would accept a V.P. slot in exchange for combining their delegates.
*******************************************************************************
I believe that, in the situation you posit, Cruz would have his delegates support Trump without REQUIRING the VP slot. Although, Trump would be a fool not to offer it to Cruz...and Trump is clearly no fool.

So buying himself a slot on the ticket is supporting Trump?

I don’t really know, but it’s fair to assume they’re party people, I think the state chairman, and the state committee chooses the other two. The rest I think are elected officials. Of course I wouldn’t assume they’re all Jeb supporters, I believe the selections are done on a state basis. And with or without them, a majority is a majority.

Yeah, isn't that funny how in their eyes the good guys are always "unelectable"? Reagan must have sure surprised them. I could vote for Trump. I'd be happiest voting for Cruz. I could even be talked into voting for Paul, maybe. But the rest of 'em ... not so much ... And I say that as someone who is still proud of *not* voting for Mitt Romney.

I’ve said for years that if we simply stop voting for republicans the gopE will die. Looks like they’re going to commit suicide before we get a change to vote against them.

The GOP equivalent of ‘superdelegates’ are each state’s Republican state chair and two National Committee members, along with US Congressmen and governors. Around 15% of the GOP delegates will be in this category and are unpledged.

Mega wealthy Republicans and Democrats play the system of donations for their own benefit and our Supreme Court in thir pocket absurdly calls it free speech. Average Americans that play the same game of free speech in business are arrested for bribery. The ELITES play us as fools.

Trump can hire the best private investigators in the world. I hope he exposes all the dirt on the other candidates AND the party big wig super delegates. And there is dirt. Plus, he can get it out to where the media can’t ignore it. Take ‘em out one at a time. After about three or four fall the rest will fall in line.

Good point. Remember Roger Stone that was fired from/quit the Trump campaign?

He is a political operative from way back. He has all the dirt or knows who does.

**********************************************************************************

States with primaries conducted on March 15th or later (such as Florida) will be “winner take all”. Of course, those rules were set up when the GOPe expected their candidate to get the majority of votes in most of those states. Thanks to the “outsiders” (Trump, Cruz and [to a lesser extent] Carson) the GOPe expectations have been demolished. Yeah!!

But we have to recognize that the GOPe/RNC/Chamber of Commerce scheming will continue all the way through the convention. I sense that the Trump & Cruz campaigns have contingencies for any possibility of GOPe sabotage.
