Senate Majority Leader.
Whoever Trump picks as VP, has to be as unpalatable to the GOPe as he is. The Republicans can’t stand up to Obama but i have no doubt they will attempt to ‘Andrew Johnson’ him at the first opportunity. Cruz or Palin would fit that description. Otherwise, Trump will look I believe to a quasi outsider such as a retired general. Just speculation on my part.
WOOHOO GO TRUMP ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!! TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP; TRUMP!!!
I’m not buying the 42% figure.
As a Trump supporter it would be nice, but I still think he’s in the 32-38% range.
Keep it moderate. I don’t want these 42% peaks, and then 28% two days later.
Allen West would bring more than Cruz to a Trump ticket.
Sad to hear it. Oh well.
Getting closer and closer to magic number of 50%!
Tens of TRILLIONS in candy is about to disappear.
Nailed it. We might, if we’re lucky, witnesses the unraveling of the Uniparty and its attendant businesses that crowd the trough of government spending.
I suspect the Veep will have a whole different job description under Trump. Cruz needs some executive seasoning and I am sure he would be a valued resource to the Trump Administration in some capacity, not necessarily as Veep.
Allen West would be an awesome pick for VP.
Even my ultra leftist buddy from union days admitted that he thought Trump was appealing to the majority who are sick of everybody in the government.
From your lips ... as they say.
Hatred for the GOPe started when they funded obamacare 4 times!! Then they funded illegal amnesty!! They are directly responsible for voting for a $20 TRILLION dollar national debt! Now they are trying to fund the Trojan horse entry of “syrians” into our country so they can kill more innocent AMERICANS!! I hate the Gope. Go Trump!!
<< So I guess you assume Trump thinks like a politician then.. Interesting. >>
No. I am saying as McCain was an underdog with women, and conservatives, he plucked out Palin, for help with both. Did he like her? NO. Did he even respect her? NO. He used her.
If you do any homework you will see that the nominees of both parties select someone they need, someone competent to either meet a regional need, like Kennedy needed LBJ for TEXAS, in the South, or some demographic group, or for ideological balance, or, or, or.
Kennedy could not stand LBJ. Ronald Reagan had no love lost for George Herbert Walker Bush. (Bush had accused Reagan of “voodoo economics” after all.
Offering the ticket is not a party favor handed out to your pals, by a long shot. At least it never has been.
The VP part of the ticket is not a popularity contest, but a service to the presidency. TRUMP will need someone with influence maybe international experience, heck, perhaps even military. Maybe someone exotic, like Petraus.
But Cruz brings him nothing, but maybe trouble, since Congress can’t stand Cruz. I believe if he picks a politician out of DC, it could be Jeff Sessions, the sage of the senate, who keeps his head down, is loyal and has few enemies if any.
“But Cruz brings him nothing, but maybe trouble, since Congress canât stand Cruz.”
It doesn’t matter what Congress thinks of Cruz. It matters what Trump thinks of Cruz, and he obviously likes him.
I completely agree with you. I will be surprised if he picks a politician at all but if he does, I’m sure it won’t be Cruz.
The shocking part is that Hillary Clinton beats every Republican in the same poll
Not according to this poll...
Morning Consult Poll Trump leads Clinton 45-40% [Trump 41%, Carson 12%, Rubio 10%, Cruz 7%]

I had not thought about that, actually. From your point of view, Cruz might be protection for Trump. Why try to upend TRUMP, if it only nets them Cruz! Hmmm.
I mean stupid Biden Blunder Boob protected Obama because who wanted a Biden Blunder Boob for president???
I think you’re very instinctive. Otherwise, my better guess is that TRUMP runs from Cruz and Palin types in order to beat Hillary in the Northern states. I mean the point is to actually WIN the general election first. %:D
You need a history lesson too. The presidential ticket is not about the Hardy Boys at Camp. I just gave you reasons why it isn’t, and gave you names and examples.
If you can’t get the simple stuff that’s obvious, already proven and on the historical record then you are stuck with an overactive imagination and a smoking pipe dream.
I am just trying to figure out what it will be, if and when the time comes, that Trump will need, given the state of the world today and the states at play, in this election.
You know, for example, we may “need” Wisconsin, BAD.
You’ve got that stinking Paul Ryan and Scott Walker, who are in on all the fun for knee capping Trump. No loyalty there, but they could bother not to help Trump in WS, they may stay home and have a headache.
OTOH, Trump has such a nice broad spread of support, all over the spectrum, that he may be safe enough in all states to be able to choose a governing helpmate in international affairs, or building up our military. I’m just ragging on your ear, here. I don’t know what is going to happen.
