It used to be that a President who didn’t have both houses of Congress was hog-tied.
Obama has changed all that by making Congress irrelevant.
If Trump wins as a third party candidate he can just start writing executive orders and memos right and left and there will be no way to stop him.
When (as I expect) Trump gets the nomination, he will give the Republican incumbents and offer they canât refuse. You come campaign with me, or I when I come to town I campaign against you. By then I expect that it will be clear that refusing the first is not a ticket back to D.C.But if that is not the case, and Trump wins in a photo finish, you could expect impeachment to magically become easy.
But IMHO Trump wins big because the Dems cannot win a third consecutive term against a media killer like Trump with an enthusiasm killer like Hillary. And with a Great Recession to explain away. In that sense I am hopeful; OTOH I know Trump will have true conservatives tearing their hair out sooner rather than later.

I’m not so sure about that. While the Republicans, who have had one and now both houses, have not been willing to lift a finger to stop Soetoto, they would probably fight Trump tooth and nail.
In your dreams. He would get impeached. Would probably be near unanimous and the senate would be happy to convict.
