Nope, not a conspiracy theory. It’s just how he sounds to me.
After thousands of votes Cruz is arguably the most conservative member of the Senate. Trumpees are upset with a few of them, as am I. Trump has been pro-abortion, for gun control, supported Tarp, bailouts, Obama’s stimulus plans, wanted nationalized healthcare, wanted to bring in Syrian refugees, was a Democrat, an independent, said Hillary was a “terrific” Secretary of State, and the list goes on and on.
Now, he is an evangelical.
The fact that anyone believes a single thing he says or trusts his judgement is puzzling enough, the fact that Trumpees try to deflect one or two votes against the most conservative Presidental candidate in decades is downright baffling.
Okay, I will stipulate, without knowing the facts, that Cruz had a bad vote on a bill two years ago. Care to address the myriad positions of Trump? He has held them all.

Don’t everybody answer at once. I’ve been an evangelical for many years, and I’ve never heard any modern-day person called an “anointed king.” Of course it happened in the O.T., but Israel was a theocracy. What, in the context of a republic/evangelical church, is an “anointed king”?

Trump and Cruz are big boys, both will trade some barbs, and both will trade kind words. In the end I believe these two respect each other, the rest is politics.
Trump and Cruz know the primary is now between the two of them. May the best man win.

The article sure looks to be illuminating. I find this to be an important distinction in the Iowa paper article:
"Cruz has often referred to the RFS as a "subsidy," but it is not. While it is a mandate on the oil industry to blend a certain amount of fuel with renewable alternatives like ethanol, it doesn't cost federal taxpayers or the federal government a dime."
Cruz looks to be vulnerable in Iowa to the hypocrisy charge.
I do believe Trump supporters approve of Ted Cruz as well.

Evangelicals are protestants who believe in the mission to spread the Gospel in everything they do. They meet a lot of resistance and are hated for intruding into the spiritual zone of society where ostensibly they were never invited. But they reason that if they are able to turn people to Christ, even one soul, then it is worth it, it is victory.
Evangelicalism is important in the political sphere because it is a force that holds society to account.
Any standard text on Theology will brief you on the evolution of the various Protestant sects. It’s not that difficult and the various factions are simply a reflection of the war that goes on inside each human soul. Same with Catholics that we see today. The Orthodox are also splintered, but at least, their Divine Liturgy is unchanged for nearly 2000 years, although they argue and quibble stupidly outside the Church at times.
If you’re frustrated, then you might consider liberalism which posits that to solve the human problem, all that is necessary is to destroy humanity. There you have it.

Ted follows his father so Donald’s comments were directed to the Raphael Cruz tree. Donald looks at families as trees and individuals as parts of a tree.
