These are the weapons that could prevent gun violence("smart" gun alert)

"Smart guns" have made headlines for the cutting-edge safety and authentication features they boast over traditional gun locks. These guns and accessories are designed to fire only for authorized users and to remain locked and secured against anyone not authorized to access the weapon. Smart firearms provide the security of a traditional safe or gun lock, but with the mobility and instant access that gun owners require for their home defense weapons. While smart guns may seem futuristic to consumers when compared with conventional firearms, they are meant to accomplish the same goal as the weapons we currently own: to make us all more safe and secure. It will be gun owners themselves who will decide which smart guns will realize that potential, by voting with their wallets on which technologies to purchase.

Since some number of police officers are killed every year with their own guns, these should be made mandatory for all police departments.

This was the original argument for developing a smart gun, that police officers were being killed with their own guns. What's interesting is that any legislation ever proposed regarding smart guns has specifically exempted them from having to use them.

Armatix iP1 . . . comes with a wristwatch which the owner must wear. Without the watch and its built in security measures, the gun won't fire.

Anyone forced to use this piece of trash should superglue the watch to the fake gun so that it will function almost like a real gun. In any case, I will boycott any retailer, wholesaler, or manufacturer involved in manufacturing or distributing this terrible affront to freedom.

The answer is to make gun ownership mandatory for all except for gun control activists.

Good idea with the super glue! Of course, there's still that " minimum of seven push-button commands and a duration of 12 seconds before the gun can be fired (cold start)" hurdle.

Of course, the cost is sort of like an Obamacare health insurance policy ... mostly "unaffordable", too:

Oh, and just to make this an even more tasty option, you can land yourself one of these frequently misfiring, possibly unable to be fired, low power technological wonders for the bargain basement price of $1,798 ($1,399 for the pistol, $399 for watch, without which it is either useless or no longer smart.) By comparison you can get a brand spanking new Glock G17 for under six hundred bucks, and most gun shops will have perfectly fine, reconditioned used models for less than half that much.

The "Smart Gun" that I want is the M600 DMR from Tracking Point in 5.56 caliber.

1000-yard shot on a moving target? Anyone can do it with this weapon. It has an automatic targeting system running on an embedded processor in the optics.

$10,000 per unit. Versions available for legal civilian use.

Manufacturer requires a background check for prospective buyers.

Hopefully no ATF Agent will call.

And how many of us have stranded when the electronic ignition module in our car malfunctioned?

But this time, they’ll get it right.

All grins and giggles until the power goes off. Single action army would be looking pretty nice.

All we need to do is get the criminals to only break into those homes with the smart guns.

Liberal “logic” on display.

Stock up now on guns that work. They'll be heirlooms for your grandchildren.

Gie them to Homeland Security. They’re the ones who “LOST” 144 weapons last year.
