Trump: Ted Cruz 'a maniac' in Senate
Washington Examiner ^ | 12/13/15 | Sarah Westwood

Posted on 12/13/2015 8:16:20 AM PST by Isara

Donald Trump took aim at Sen. Ted Cruz Sunday, launching one of the first of what will likely be a series of attacks against the candidate now leading him in Iowa.

"I don't think he's qualified to be president," Trump said, arguing the Texas Republican's tenure in the Senate makes him too divisive for the job.

Cruz has been "frankly a little bit of a maniac," Trump said in a taped interview on Fox News. "You're never gonna be able to get things done that way."

"You can't walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people," Trump said. "He'll never be able to get anything done and that's the problem with Ted."

Trump also appeared Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," touting his business success, his best-selling books and his TV show "The Apprentice."

"You don't make that kind of success without judgement," he added.

Trump was responding to comments from Cruz earlier this week questioning the real estate mogul's judgement. A Bloomberg News/Des Moines Register poll released Saturday showed Cruz opening a 10 point polling lead on Trump in Iowa.

"I would say I have far better judgement than Ted," Trump said. "I'm more capable."

Trump also stood by his controversial proposal to ban Muslims from entering the country on a temporary basis despite condemnation from the leaders of both parties.

"I'm about security. I'm about safety. I'm about borders," he said. "We have to have the right people coming into our country."

Trump defended his Muslim policy by arguing his Muslim friends supported the idea.

"They know they have a problem," he said.

The GOP front-runner blasted President Obama and Hillary Clinton for their reluctance to criticize radical Islam in the wake of the San Bernardino shooting.

"If you don't identify the problem, you're never going to solve the problem," he said.

This won’t hurt Ted... Saying he should call McConnell a liar will not hurt him.

We need more “maniacs” and fewer loons in the Senate, IMHO.

I’ll be voting for the real deal fearless conservative who’s been taking it to both sides, who defends the Constitution, talks about, knows it, teaches it, over the bloviating demagogue, the Northeast liberal who donated to Clintons.

Go CRUZ!

‘Maniacal’ is a fair description of Cruz’s behavior in the Senate.
And that behavior is admired by many of us.

"You can't walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people,"

Trump is the same person he was in 2011, when he said we should "go down the line" in a bi-partisan way, reach across the aisle, and get along with the Democrats.

No, thanks. Cruz or lose!

At this point I really don’t care who the nominee is, Trump or Cruz would be fine by me. Personally I don’t think Cruz could beat Hitlery, for that reason alone I would prefer Trump as I think he would liquidate her in a debate, but either one is fine. What we don’t want to happen is Yeb! or Rubio or any of the other treasonists posing as Republicans because they are merely props for the Uniparty put in place solely to make people think they have a choice when it comes to Hitlery. If ANY of them become the nominee, without question Hitlery will become next POTUS and 3rd world status will become a reality. There will be no going back.

Trump is doing just what the GOPe and Hillary had hoped he would do.

Hillary and her witch pals must be casting spells again.

First, he bashes Cruz for being an Evangelical Christian. Now he bashes Cruz for being a principled conservative.

So, what is Trump saying Cruz should have done in the Senate? Give up the conservative fight and throw in with the GOPe leaders who were folding up like lawn chairs and giving Obama and the dems EVERYTHING they want?

Also, does Trump expect us to believe he is SO much more diplomatic than Cruz? This is ridiculous.

“Don’t go there, Donald! You are exposing yourself.”

Yes, Trump had better get some better advice on attacking Cruz in matters where he has clear advantage from a legislative position. This election is Trump’s to lose. He does need to be more specific if he is going to attack Cruz. Cruz has control over the Iowa vote with his support capability for the Ethanol Cartel.

Don’t screw it up Trump. You can do better.

I always knew it would come to this, politics is a combat sport. And the boys were getting along so well.

They used to say that about me and cousin Harris, then one day he said something about me that crossed the line and I kicked him in his shins, and took a piece out of it.

It felt good and taught him not to mess around with me.

You see what happen when you accuse Trump of “BAD JUDGMENT” -Ted?I know you apologized but then you said he was “Fading” when, of course, he is not fading. I do predict fading but it won’t be Trump. ( remember Carson? is he still around?) When you open the door,Trump walks right through it and that is why we love him so. You need to back off and you have an excellent chance for the Supreme Court.
